The group walked out of the restaurant, laughing at something that Heejin had said. "Should we go get some ice cream?" Jiyeon asked.

"You guys can go," Soyeon replied. "I told my mom I'd be home in time to have dinner with my grandparents."

Jiyeon groaned and Heejin latched herself onto Soyeon's arm, nuzzling her head into her shoulder. "Don't leeeeeeave," she whined.

"I have to," Soyeon chuckled. "I'll call you guys later."

"Will you call me later?" Jaemin asked her. She looked up at him.

"If I had your number, I definitely would not call you," she smiled. Jaemin smirked and nodded.

"That's fair. Can I offer you a ride home?"

"Can I offer you a punch in the face?"

"Only if you'll kiss it after."

Soyeon grunted and turned back to the others. "It was nice meeting you," she smiled at Jeno and Renjun, getting two beautiful smiles in return. "We'll hang out again soon. Just don't bring your dog next time."

They both laughed and Jaemin stared at her for a few seconds before chuckling, realizing she was talking about him. She smiled at Jiyeon and pinched Heejin's cheeks before walking away.

"I think I'm in love," Jaemin said as Soyeon walked away, gawking at her.

"Don't be weird," Renjun scolded him.

Soyeon walked home and greeted her mom before heading upstairs to shower and put on something nice for her grandparents. When she walked back in her room, her phone buzzed with a text message from an unknown number.

Unknown Number
I miss you already

Her phone buzzed again.

Unknown Number
It's Jaemin, by the way

She rolled her eyes and put her phone back on her bed, not wanting to respond to him. He was just flirting with her because he was bored, and she was sure he would be done with her within the next few hours. So, if she ignored him, he'd lose interest and move on faster.

She had dinner with her family, laughing and enjoying her time with her grandparents. Once they had left and she went back upstairs, her phone was buzzing with more messages.

Unknown Number
You can't ignore me forever. I know this is your number, Heejin gave it to me

Unknown Number
Okay, maybe she didn't give it to me. Maybe I took her phone and sent myself your number but you know what? No regrets

Unknown Number
Hey

Unknown Number
Hey

Unknown Number
Hey

Unknown Number
Hey

The messages proceeded to flood in, and Soyeon groaned, blocking his number. She laid on her bed watching Netflix on her computer until her phone rang with another unknown number. Without thinking about it, she answered.

"Hello?"

"You blocked me?!"

"How did you—What number are you calling from?"

"Don't worry about it. Just unblock me."

"Find someone else to play with for the week. I'm over it."

Soyeon hung up and blocked that number, continuing her episode. Her phone rang yet again, but she decided to ignore the phone call this time. It proceeded to ring until she finally picked up, fuming.

"WHAT?!" she yelled into the phone.

"Unblock meeeee," he pouted.

"How many phones do you have?!" Soyeon asked. Jaemin didn't respond. "I'm not unblocking you."

"Pleeeeeeeeease. I wanna talk to youuuuu," he whined. She sighed.

"Why do you insist on making me your next target?" she asked.

"Target?" he chuckled. "I don't know what you're talking about."

"Mhm, stop calling me." She went to hang up the phone, but Jaemin started screaming bloody murder on the phone. "What—? What's going on? Jaemin are you okay?!" she yelled nervously into the phone.

"Yeah, I'm okay," he answered nonchalantly, ceasing his screams. "I just didn't want you to hang up."

"I hate you."

"I know, but I'm trying to change thatttt," Jaemin whined more.

"All your whining isn't helping you. And I'm not into clingy boys, so you have no chance," Soyeon told him. She could practically see his smile on the other end of the call.

"You'll get used to it," he said. "It's not me being clingy, it's me caring. I just care a lot."

"You're annoying."

"Yeah, you'll get used to that too."

"You know, I'm starting to lose my will to live. Now I get what Renjun was saying," Soyeon sighed.

"Don't let Renjun fool you, he had no will to live even before he met me," Jaemin answered. Soyeon couldn't help but let out a small chuckle.

"See, we can have a friendly conversation," Jaemin pointed out. Soyeon sighed again.

"My eyes hurt from rolling them so much."

"I can come over to kiss them and make them feel better," Jaemin replied.

"I'm hanging up now," Soyeon said. She pressed the button to end the call and bit her lip, staring at her phone for a second. She let out a breath and unblocked his number(s), trying to be nice for Jiyeon's sake.

"I'm gonna regret this," she mumbled.

Jaemin
You unblocked me!

Soyeon
It's scary how fast you realized that

Jaemin
Will I see you in school tomorrow?

Soyeon
If you look for me

Jaemin
Got it!

Soyeon
That wasn't an invitation...

Jaemin didn't reply again, just put his phone down and got ready for bed. He stared up at the ceiling in his bedroom, his heart pounding while his thoughts were filled with Soyeon. He'd never met anyone like her, and he wasn't sure what to do with himself at this moment.

"Jeon Soyeon, what are you doing to me?" he asked himself with a smile. He shook his head with a chuckle and then rolled over before drifting off to sleep.
