Soyeon and Jaemin laid on the lawn, Soyeon's head on Jaemin's chest and Hyun Ki's head on Soyeon's stomach. She pet Hyun Ki's head while her and Jaemin looked up at the clouds, talking about anything and everything.

"Biggest fear," Jaemin said.

"Hmmm..." Soyeon pursed her lips. "Viruses."

"Viruses?" Jaemin asked. "Not like snakes or spiders or the dark?"

"I've never come in contact with a venomous snake, spiders are absolutely terrifying but they're not the scariest, and if you're afraid of the dark I'm breaking up with you."

Jaemin chuckled. "Okay, why viruses then?"

"Because have you ever thought about what a deadly virus could do to the world? Have you ever seen Contagion? Or Outbreak? Literally one person could get a virus from an animal and then people would start dying off and then we would all be dead without a cure and it could and probably would wipe out the world in a matter of like a month."

Jaemin's eyes widened. "God now that's gonna be my biggest fear. Cool."

"You asked," Soyeon replied. The back door opened and Jaemin's mom stepped outside with a smile on her face. They both sat up and looked at her.

"You must be Soyeon," Mrs. Na said. Soyeon nodded and stood up, reaching to shake her hand.

"Yes, it's so nice to meet you," Soyeon said. Mrs. Na smiled widely.

"Yes, yes, you too. Are you hungry? We've got plenty of snacks inside."

Before Soyeon could answer, Jaemin was at her side. "Starving," he replied. His mom nodded and turned around to walk inside. They followed her in, and Hyun Ki stayed close to Soyeon.

"Seems like someone likes you," Mrs. Na gestured to Hyun Ki as she took some fruit out of the fridge.

"He knows a snack when he sees one," Jaemin commented. Soyeon looked at him and shook her head.

"You have got to be the most annoying person I have ever met," she whispered. Jaemin smirked.

"But you still fell for me."

Soyeon raised her eyebrows. "Maybe I didn't fall for you. Maybe I'm only dating you for your dog."

"You didn't know I had a dog," Jaemin replied with raised eyebrows, mirroring Soyeon's. She pursed her lips and nodded.

"Touché."

Mrs. Na sat down at the table with them while they ate some fruit that she had cut up for them, wanting to get to know Soyeon. "So, Soyeon, what are you planning to do after graduation?" she asked.

Soyeon took a bite of her Asian pear. "I'm thinking of studying abroad. I can speak English, so I was thinking maybe Europe or Canada or America."

Mrs. Na raised her eyebrows in curiosity. "Really? That's incredible! How do you know English?"

"My dad is originally from America, so it was the first language he taught me and my sister," Soyeon replied. Jaemin watched her intently, getting new information even he didn't know.

"You know, Jaemin has a friend that moved here from Canada...What's his name?" She turned to look at Jaemin and Jaemin chuckled, looking at Soyeon.

"Mark."

Soyeon's eyes widened. "Mark is Canadian?" she asked in surprise.

"Oh, you know Mark?" Mrs. Na asked. Soyeon nodded.

"We met through Jaemin."

Mrs. Na nodded. "I'm glad you're getting to know each other's friends. It's always useful in a relationship to get along with your friends." She smiled a precious smile, making Soyeon smile in return. Mrs. Na looked at the clock on the wall and then stood up. "Oh, I have to go pick up Mr. Na from his doctor's appointment and then I'll be home. Soyeon, are you staying for dinner?"

Soyeon shook her head. "Not tonight, I promised my mom I would help her decorate the house for a barbecue we're having this weekend. Which reminds me! You guys should come! My mom would love to meet you! She always says that more people is better for her, because it makes her look like she knows more people."

Mrs. Na chuckled. "It sounds like your mom and I are going to be good friends. We would love to come. Just give me the details and I'll make sure we get there. It was nice meeting you, sweetie." She leaned down to give Soyeon a small hug and then grabbed her purse and headed out of the house.

"Your mom is a treasure," Soyeon said to Jaemin, popping another little piece of fruit into her mouth.

"The apple doesn't fall from the tree," Jaemin replied, putting his hands under his chin as if he were showing off his face. Soyeon rolled her eyes and threw a piece of fruit at him, making him laugh. "You're so violent," he said.

"You're so annoying," she replied.

"So I've heard."
