if i could tell them,
i would say,
"look at what you did.
you robbed this kid.
they didn't deserve
a drop
of the pain you've caused them.
or the subconscious fear you've planted in them.
they deserved love. they always will.
but you did the opposite.
you made them feel ashamed
for the last thing they should be ashamed of.
purely being themselves,
being happy and careless."
no words can describe the heartbreak
of watching your friend mask affliction behind their eyes
asking, "what's wrong with me?"
