7: Confession in the Caferteria

"I can't believe we're gonna have to eat cafeteria food." I complained.
"If only I could sneak out and go get the subs myself." Sophie said.
"You wish" I replied. "The principal guards the school entrance herself"

We sat down at a table. Sophie started to check if the milk was expired.

I giggled and look up only to notice Gavin and his friend walk into the caferteria.
Then he turned in my direction and smiled.
I was shocked and turned to my back. No one was there. I looked at him again and he laughed. I giggled back and looked down.
Wow. This is the second time he's looked at me.
It made me more confident to give him the letter this afternoon.

"Ahem can I have your attention everyone"

Everyone in the caferteria turned to Velen who was standing on a table.

"Velen? What is she doing?" Sophie grumbled.

Velen turned to Gavin and said.
"I know things have not been well between us but I hope this will change all of that."

Sophie and I looked at each other.

Velen then pulled out something. A light blue envelop. My eyes went wide with shock.
"Hey isn't that...!"

"To Gavin with my heart"
Velen read.
No way!

She pulled out the paper and began.
"Meeting you in the Spring was like a romantic moment from a fairytale.

Under the blue sky, our eyes met at each other at the pier.

You smiled at me first and I smiled back.

It was fate that made at meet that day I think and for days I didn't understand why I got theses feelings.

When you walk into school each day, you amaze me with your movie star entrances cuz you are one .

No one can run their hand in their hair the way you do.

You're eyes shimmer like a thousand stars that when you look at me all the stars are closer.
And your laugh is like a melody
So sweet to my ears.

When I sleep I always dream of you smiling at me. We're both wearing headphones listening to our favorite song and when we kiss fireworks appear in the background.

And in all I want to say...I love you Gavin."
Velen read.

Then she jumped off the table and walked to Gavin who was paralyzed with shock by the words and she kissed him on the lips.

The entire Hall erupted in cheers.
Sophie and I were dumb-struck.

I ran out of the cafeteria. Sophie called after me but I ignored her.

Instead I ran to my locker and opened it. I frantically searched the entire  locker.

Sophie caught up to me. "Piper"
She said.
"It's gone." I mumbled.
"The letter. it's gone."
