Stacey's P.O.V.
After a few minutes of consoling I decided that calling Kyle would be the best idea, so ducking out of the room, I dialed him and prayed he would answer.
"Hello?" a groggy voice answered.
"Kyle? Claire just woke up screaming about a nightmare she had, and won;'t say anything except 'they're gonna get me'," I said.
"Is she ok?" he asked, worry laced in his voice.
"Yea, I think so, but she wants you," I said.
"Alright, I guess I'll be over in a few," he said, and I could hear his grabbing things as he talked.
"Thanks," I said, hanging up.
Him coming over was good for two reasons: one, it would calm Claire better, and two, I didn't like where my brain was going with all of this.
"I want bubby." Claire cried as I walked into the room.
"He'll be here soon," I promised, sitting next to Ashton since Claire is in his lap.
"Okay," she smiled, yawning a little.
We talked and waited a few minutes, before hearing the doorbell ring.
"Alright, Claire, I'll be right back," I promised, standing up and walking to the front door.
"Where is she? Is she alright?" Kyle asked as soon as I opened the door.
"She's fine, upstairs," I said, letting him in.
He nodded, and ran upstairs, me hot on his heels.
"Bubby!" Claire exclaimed, jumping into his arms.
"Hey, Claire Bear, what happened?" he asked, holding her up.
Claire whispered some incoherent words to him, but I was able to make out 'nightmare' 'them' and help', which terrifies me.
"Shh, babygirl, I'm here," he said soothinly, rubbing her back.
"Why don't you stay for the night," I suggested, smiling at the two.
"Are you sure that's not a problem?" he asked.
"No, not at all. It's late, and we both need to get up early tomorrow, so why don't you stay here tonight," I pushed.
"Please," Claire said, giving him her best puppy dog look.
" I guess, thank you," he said, looking at me.
"No problem, but let's get to bed," I said, leading him to the spare bedroom.
" I don't want to take Ashton's room," he said, looking around.
"Oh, you're not, I've made a room for me in her brother's old room," Ash said.
"You have a brother?" Luke asked.
"Um, yea," I said, looking down. "If you could not mention that to anyone, that would be nice."
"Oh, um yea, totally. My lips are sealed," Luke promised.
"Thank you. Here you go," I said, handing him some spare blankets.
"I'm sorry if she sounded harsh, there are just some things with her brother, and she just doesn't like people knowing," I heard Ashton tell Luke.
