I closed my eyes hard waiting for the impact but it never came. Instead a sense of lightness came over me. I felt light as a feather as the wind took me. This must be what death feels like. Somehow I managed to die in the underworld. I was destined to wander the void forever. Before I could fall in despair I felt a jolt "Nazul! what happened!? Quick wake up boy! Nazul!" I heard a sharp voice that seemed strangely familiar. "Master is that you?" Light came flooding back as I opened my eyes, Janshai looked worried. "Nazul what happened in there, you came back earlier than I thought. Did you get the stone?" I looked around, I was sitting in the circle that sent me to the underworld the candles were all melted wax as smoke rose to the ceiling. "No I couldn't get it in time, I'm sorry." His face turned somber "That's terrible news, but I'm glad your safe I could feel there was something off going on." I looked up at him, "what do you mean?" "Its weaker than it used to be but I have a spiritual connection with the underworld, even from up here I can feel it." I realized in a panic my cloak was gone and the book! Crap how I'm I suppose to get the stone now! "Tell me Nazul did anything peculiar happen there, did you meet someone?" I got up warily trying to avoid Janshais stare. "No nothing out of the ordinary, just dead spirits that is all." Janshai stroked his grey wispy beard "I see." Janshai hunched over in deep thought I couldn't see his face but I could tell he was disappointed. Janshai turned around with a smile on his face, "Well it would be good if you got some rest. We'll finish this tomorrow." I nodded in agreement and made my way out of the door. Still in my underwear. I waited until I was out of view from the hall and sprinted up the spiral staircase. The stairs echoed as I made my way into the giant library. I saw in the corner of my eye the orc man was still here. He was hunched over but seemed to be sleeping from the monstrous snoring coming from him. I quietly walked by and into the hall. The hall was still empty, it seemed I was the only one up on this floor. I opened each door slowly seeing which was the right one. Every one was barren and lifeless. Finally one in the middle was my room. I saw my cloak was laid perfectly in order on the mat. I dove towards it and scrambled through it. I began to panic but I felt a hard rectangular object. I lifted it out and saw it was the book. It still had the small golden cross on the cover. It looked entirely different from what it was in the underworld. The leather bound cover was wrinkled and cracked. Its pages looked waterlogged and torn. Why the hell would he want this book back so bad? It looked like it went through hell and back. Strangely in the spirit world it was golden. I put on my cloak and put the book snuggly inside against my chest. I went to lay down put as soon as I did I heard a strange voice in my head. "Nazul, leave. Now." I looked around but saw no one was around. "Who is that what do you want?" I waited for a reply but none came. I began to hear a loud pounding coming from below it vibrated the floor which I stood on. Multiple hurried footsteps sounding outside my door with hushed voices I bolted out to get answers but they were already gone. I ran down the hall towards the library. The orc was gone as well. The pounding got louder as books began falling off the shelves. I went down the staircase and into the main sanctuary. The tree stood majestic as ever and the water was extremely still. The loud pounding was coming from the big wooden doors. They seemed to be strong as they barely budged. "LET US IN YOU HEATHENS! GODS WRATH IS UPON YOU!" The doors shook violently as the burliest of the necromancers braced against the door. Andre stood by and he seemed to be the one communicating with them. "Your not welcomed here, only necromancers allowed, please leave at once!" A maniac laughter could be heard. "Fools all of you! All I asked for was the boy and I would've spared your worthless lives! But now you give me no choice! I will kill all of you!" My heart dropped as I heard another familiar voice. "Mah lord muybe we shoulda come back anotha time, seems like there busy." Another voice I did not recognized chimed in. "Jameson your such a moron were getting paid to do this remember you want to eat again right?" "Oh yessa I do, I feel the hunga deep in mah bones. Been in this dry patch for days." Andre spoke again louder, this time with a quiver in his voice, "I don't care if you were paid or not leave now, your not welcomed here!" The door splintered open as it finally gave way. The heavy door crushed one of the necromancers with a loud cry. A huge man with giant hands came charging in. "Thatta do it Borin! Show em who's boss!" Jamesons stupid face had a huge grin. I hid behind a column as I prepared a plan in my head. I began to panic as I saw the cruel mans eyes. We locked eyes for a moment but he quickly turned towards Andre. Who was on the floor with a bloody arm. "I told you I would kill all of you! Time to make an example!" I yelled out in protest as I quickly realized what he was doing. The man picked Andre's weak body up by his cloak he thrust his sword right into his stomach. Andre spit blood as he coughed. "Noooo!" Andre fell to the ground in a bloody heap, dead. "The boy is hiding behind that column get him!" A strange man took out a cross bow and pointed it at me. The bolt shot and almost went through the solid marble column. "Dammit Rulf you missed!" Some of the necromancers made a formation strange magic began to emanate from them. "Fire!" A huge bolt of purple lightning crackled everywhere. The giant man was hit sqaure in the chest with a sizzle. "Oowww!" "A man with throwing knives and long black hair charged straight towards me. "Found you! Stupid brat!" I couldn't react quick enough as he sweeped his leg tripping me. I looked up in a frenzy and saw a knife barreling towards my face. I kicked him as hard I could right in the nuts. He let out a holler of pain and fell backwards. Shit this is crazy! Where is Janshai!? Maybe he could help protect us. The strange man had his crossbow pointed at me again. The bolt whipped through the air and went right in my shoulder. I felt the bone break in my arm. The man on the ground got back up again. "That's it Rulf! That will teach you! He never misses!" I screamed in pain as I looked towards the door. Every single necromancer was already dead in a pool of blood. The cruel man was nowhere to be seen. Where the hell did he go? The giant man had fell face first a huge hole in his chest. I looked around for Jameson but he was gone too. I could barely concentrate as the pain was unbearable. "Dont look away from me! Your still fighting remember!?" He quickly punched me in the gut as I let out a large cry, somehow I managed to keep standing. I shouted out a spell as I held my hand towards him. "Coercere!" The man froze mid attack as he struggled to move his eyes widened in fear. "Rulf, help me! Hurry and kill him!" Rulf stood far off with another bolt loaded. I shouted another spell "Viribus!" The bolt flew back and shattered. Rulf fell back in shock. I began to run towards Janshais office looking for any way out, my breathing was heavy and panicked. "Dammit! Where did everyone go!?" The spell wouldn't hold him for long, he's faster and a better fighter than me I wouldn't be able to defeat him. I barge into the room and saw Janshai was gone. "Damn coward." I went back out and heard loud laughter. "HAHAHAHA THERE ALL GONE EXCEPT YOU!" His voice echoed through the halls as I clutched my shoulder as the blood dripped from it. "DO YOU REALLY THINK THEY CARE ABOUT YOU!? THEY WERE USING YOU!" I spun around looking for the source of the voice. "NOW YOUR GOING TO DIE LIKE THE SCUM YOU ARE!" the cruel mans shadow leapt across the walls as he jumped on top of me. He began to strangle me with his hands as I struggled to breath. I hurriedly grabbed my dagger and stabbed his hand. He quickly let go and I ran. I turned around and threw the dagger straight at him. It landed with a thunk in the middle of his forehead. He staggered back as I looked at him with suprise. I just killed him! It was that easy!? Fear gripped me as I saw his mouth twitch into a smile. The cruel man grabbed the knife and pulled it out. The wound began to heal rapidly and soon it was gone. "You can't kill me from a puny little blade I'm afraid." He then disengrated the blade with his bare hands. "What the hell do you want from me!? What did I do?" He began to laugh again. "Dont make me laugh! Your kind is nothing but trouble!? you alone have killed dozens of people without remorse! You sicken me with your heathen ways! Planning to revive your mother! Your a fool to think you can cheat death!!! I know everything about you Nazul! I've watched you and studied you ever since your disgusting master died by my hands! I watched him beg and plead for his life! It was pathetic!" A rage began to boil inside me. My hands and face felt hot with anger. I cleanch my fist as my body shook. "Do my words cut deep? I bet they do! Your so called master was nothing but a lying scumbag! Did he ever tell you the atrocities he did? No! I dont think so!" The cruel mans eyes were filled with madness he tore his blade from his scabbard and pointed it towards me. The blade was already bathed in a dark blood. The light in the hall seem to grow dimmer and dimmer. My breathing began to get shallower. "Surrender to my will and accept your fate! My friend already gravely injured you with that crossbow of his. He was just inches away from your heart!" I fell to my knees and looked up at him. He's grey short hair was almost buzzed. His face was stern and foreboding. I looked at his muscular frame and saw no injuries whatsoever. This was no man... this was a monster.
