I clenched my fist as I stared at the cigar the pudgy man puffed on. "Well sit down already your making me nervous." I sat in the hard wooden chair as one of the other men began dealing the cards. Two of the mysterious men had big trench coats on and wide brim hats. There faces were too dark under the dim light to see. "Hurry up thing 1 I dont got all day!" The pudgy man yelled. I felt a chill down my spine. Thing 1? Like thing nine? So these men must be like that monster at the gate. Crap. I tried not to freak out as I studied my hand. 3 of hearts, seven of spades, an ace... "Gweedo what you got there your real quiet must be a good hand. You know you can't hide from pops" the pudgy man chuckled loudly. Gweedo growled in reply. Marza franco sat beside me and began to clean his monocle. "Hey franky no helping the little twerp alright." Marza snorted, "Why of course not Al I would never, I'm a gentleman afterall." Al sneered, "Why yes you are." I looked at Al as he placed his chips in the center. I waited for my turn patiently when I felt a knife poke into my back. Marza Franco got closer to my ear. "Don't mess up." He dug it in deeper as I tried to hide my fear. "Your turn kid" I looked at my cards, crap I dont even know how to play poker. I slowly place the cards down on the table. Al looked up from his cards. The hazy smoke drifting around him. "Your betting on it already kid, must have a good hand." I felt the knife poke deeper into my back. "Win, or you will not make it out of here alive." Marza franco stepped away and the pain subsided. I quickly stood and spun around spraying fire in marza Franco's face. "Damn kid what the hell are you doing!?" Franco laughed in response, "I'm already dead what did you think that would do. Stupid boy you had one thing I asked of you." I raise my hand to the ceiling "cadere!" The crystal chandelier fell and shattered on top of franco. "Ughhhh!" Al stood up and took the cigar out of his mouth. "get em before he makes more trouble for us!" Thing 2 began to growl and grow into a hideous monster. The trenchcoat ripped off and revealed its slimy skin. Spikes covered its entire body and it had huge claws. Its face was a fleshy mess with a gaping hole filled with teeth. I acted fast and sprayed hot fire at it. It shrieked and I ran past it into the room in the back. I slammed the door shut and put a door up against it. "That should hold it for a bit. The room seemed to be Marza Francos office; I scoured around the desk looking for the book. Shit where is it! A massive claw ripped through the door like it was toothpicks. The monster growled louder and louder. "Would ya look at that kid, you made Gweedo mad! Should've just played the damn game!" I ripped open the drawers and and the file cabinets. Where is that stupid book! He only said it had a cross on it. Crap! The growls got louder as the door shattered open and Gweedo came charging in. He caught me in his huge claw and flung me towards the wall. The breath was knocked out of me as I landed on my back. I got up and narrowly missed a huge swing. A huge dent was left in the metal wall. I began to run down the hallway that led out of his office. I scanned the rooms as I went by most of them were too dark to see from the windows. "GRAGGGHHH YOU PLAY GAME OR DIE!" Gweedo shuffled along and luckily wasn't very fast. Huge drips of saliva dripped from his mouth. The saliva melted the floors in with green smoke evaporating from it. I froze as I heard a gurgling sound. Gweedo leaned back and showed off his grotesque body. He spit a huge loogie as it splattered in the hallway melting everything with a crackle. I hurried and went into the nearest room I said the spell for fire as it grew in my hand. The room illuminated into view it was cluttered with many strange items: old tools, things floating in jars and hundreds of books stack on top of each other. I scanned the books piled high as I threw them away one by one. "YOU.. MUST... PAY!" Gweedos claws were banging against the iron door. It slowly began to cave in. Crap where's that stupid book! I looked for the cross symbol but found nothing. Out of the corner of my eye a shiny gold book caught my attention. I picked it up and it turned from gold into a wrinkly old leather bound book. A golden cross was on the front of the cover. This must be it, finally time to get out of this hellish place. I hurriedly concealed the book inside my cloak as the door bust down. Gweedo was so massive he couldn't fit through. His body dripped with slime as it began to disenagrate the thick walls. "NO... HIDING.. FOR YOU!" I held the fire in my hand out threateningly. "Stay back slimeball! I'll burn you to a crisp!" "The air crackled as the slime started to ooze towards me. "I said STAY BACK!" I sprayed the flame as the ooze evaporated It began to flow faster towards me. "COME... OUT... AND... PLAY!" The shelves fell to the ground as the monster rammed the door over and over. I felt the vibration through my teeth. I tried to focus hard and shout through my mind. "Get me out of here Janshai! How the hell do I even get out of here!" The metal wall finally disintegrated. The bulbous monster came charging in I raised my hands hopelessly waiting for death.
