A morning run with your dad and his fiancee, Pepper, was how you started off every morning. It gave you a sense of much needed normalcy.
You were nineteen years old and still lived with your parents. You were working to get your degree, but you opted for online classes rather than moving to large campus. It was easy to say that your reasoning was because you were the daughter of the genius billionaire, Tony Stark, but that wasn't the only reason.
Five years ago, something significant happened to you. Your life was changed permanently by a single accident.
The accident caused you to shut yourself off from the world. It was your father's decision at first. You weren't able to control the powers you had.
But two years later, Wanda came into the picture, holding powers of her own. She was able to teach you how to control them, use them, and protect those you loved with them.
Despite your father suddenly urging you to go back to high school and make friends again, you declined. Suddenly, nothing was more important to you than fully understanding your powers. You wanted to become an Avenger.
Wanda trained you. Vision assisted you. Your father helped you design your suit (which was nothing like the clunky thing he wore) and because Thor left Earth and Bruce vanished after Ultron, you became an Avenger.
You took no superhero name, because nothing seemed to quite fit what you were and what powers you had. You were suddenly other-worldly.
When you were fourteen, Loki attacked New York. People were evacuated, but not quickly enough. You were on a field trip with your choir when Loki appeared in the museum.
You saw three people get murdered in front of you.
And somehow, although you cannot remember it happening, he touched the tip of that glowing-blue scepter to your heart.
You can't remember anything that happened after that. Clint tried to save you, you remember that. But he was taken as well.
Loki ordered you and some other man to open a portal. You did. But when your father flew through it to close it, and nearly got lost in space, and Natasha was closing it, you panicked.
You broke out of the hypnotic power, lunged towards the portal, and at the same time, it exploded.
Your body sucked in the power as you were blown back with it.
And when you woke up, you had the power of an infinity stone inside of you.
Five years later, you live today as your father does. You don't hide your identity. You fight alongside him, even though the Avengers are done.
Lately, you'd been fighting alongside a certain Spider-Man. The kid was a couple of years younger than you, but easily your best friend. A selfie of the two of you was your lockscreen. He was the person you trusted most (next to your dad).
Which was sort of a big deal, because when Steve and the others got in trouble and ran off, it messed with you. Your family had betrayed you. Now you were alone.
It was just you, your dad, Pepper, Rhodes, Peter, and Vision.
Only Vision had been around less and less. He was sneaking off to meet up with Wanda.
You wished he'd take you. You missed her.
Shaking off your thoughts, you turned your music up. Your dad and Pepper were a little bit ahead of you, because you liked to let them have their time.
Suddenly they paused, talking to one another. You took this as an opportunity to stretch and tie your shoe a little tighter.
As you stood up, laces finally tight enough, you saw sparks of orange cutting through the sky. Literally cutting.
