I went back to the hospital, thanking Erik and God that I survived. I knew I would be eternally grateful. I was glad to be going back to my normal life.

For the past month or so, I've been working my ass off at the hospital. Just because I missed a few days! Oh. And because I didn't check on the man at the Senior Center. Luckily he didn't die or anything. I enjoy my work, and I love to help people, and I'm glad.

"Christine, there is a patient waiting for you in the upper level." One of the doctor told me.

"Thank you." I took the elevator up to the upper level, and I saw a man.

"Are y-you my doctor?"

"Yes Sir, I am." I sat down on his bed, beside him.

"Can you do me a huge favour?"

"Sure." I smiled. "What is it?"

"Could you go across town to the tallest building, then go the the highest level, and get my work."

"Of course. I'll be right back."

I took the subway across town. I stepped out and I felt the cool breeze blow across my face. It was nice to feel the wind again.

I stepped into the elevator and I hit the number 87. The elevator took me up. It took quite a long time. I'm not sure why. I was the only one in the elevator, so it's not the weight. Suddenly, the elevator stopped. I was at level 86. I was almost there! I felt something hot. I heard something above me. It was a hand.

"Take my hand!" A voice shouted. For some reason something felt normal. I felt like I could trust this person. I took the hand and it lifted me above the shaft and I saw fire. Fire burst into the elevator. I was so astonished! I could have died. Before I could look at the person who saved me, I found myself uprising next to the body. I saw the elevator fall. The fire rose, but we were too quick. I finally looked at my saviour, and I saw a mask.

"Erik?" I asked.

"Hold on Christine." He held me closer. "When we reach the top, there is a bag on the ground, pick it up, and run. Run off the building, and pull the string."

"Why?"

"This whole building is going to be ash in a few moments."

We finally reached the top, and I did as I was told. I picked up the bag and I pulled the string as I ran off the side. A started to glide down to the ground. It was a parachute. I couldn't see behind me, but I heard an explosion. Smoke filled my lungs.

"It's alright. A little smoke won't kill you." A voice said behind me. It was his.

"Thank goodness!!" I shouted. "I thought you were-."

"Gone?" He interrupted.

"I'm sorry Erik." I apologized.

We reached the ground, and I thanked him again.

"Erik."

"Yes Christine?"

"How did you know I was going to be here?" Silence filled the air. Why didn't I see this before? I have been so stupid!

"Thank you." I thanked him too many times for comfort. I looked at his arm, and I could see it was infected.

"You're welcome." He smiled.
