Dating my best friend

Bus Rides...

This was before the bowling, but I just wanted to share one of my favorite memories. That is the away meet and Great Wolf Lodge. We got to the meet by bus, so it took a while, but I didn't mind it. When we arrived we were all exhausted and none of us were in the mood to swim, but we had to anyways. Since the "Squad" knew about Dakota and I being a thing we were comfortable being closer and stuff. We later on figured out that Will and Alyssa still didn't know. Will made a joke about Dakota and I being together and we agreed, but Will's face looked confused and he goes, "...Wait, seriously?" Everyone is still confused on how he didn't know because we all thought he knew all along. Then Alyssa figured it out.

The meet ended we went back on the bus and I was so exhausted I laid on his on shoulder. It was fine and then his dad came on the bus to give our room keys, so that ended. When we got off the bus Halle, Grace and I went to our room got our pajamas on, got food, met with the boys and Alyssa to get ice cream, and then went to our room. I sat on the couch and then Dakota decided to sit next to me and put his arm around me. All I remember were butterflies. Simple things like that make me so happy. He did it because only the "Squad" was in the room, then our room became the party room and he did not do it. I understood why, but then I looked over at Alyssa and Will cuddling. Oh well it wasn't like we were dating we were a thing. I wanted it to be more, but I did not want to say anything.

Curfew was getting close and I was sad, but I was also ready for the water park the next day. Either Grace or Halle walked with me to drop off Dakota.  When we all got back to the room, we were all just spilling tea about everything. I got emotional too, but we don't need to get into that. As we were spilling tea , Halle's ex's twin brother Facetimed her, but Grace had to have a different name because he knows her, so we ended up both being Meghan's. He literally called for no reason, we ended that call and continued to spill more and more and more. We then realized it was late, but we also realized that our air conditioning was on 69, but that is besides the point. There was also a Yoga thing in the morning, so we wanted to get some rest. I told Halle and Grace that I was taking out my hearing aids, so I couldn't hear them. Of course all I hear is whispering and then I hear one of them say "Dakota", but really loud. That got my attention, so I got up and went over to Halle's bed and asked what they said. Poor Halle, I scared her because she didn't see me, but I think it is fine. Halle then told me that she asked Grace, "You know who's hot?" and grace said, "Who?" and then that's when I heard Halle say, "Dakota" , so I just say alrighty welp it is true, now I am going to bed.

We wake up and all of us start dancing to "All I Want For Christmas Is You" and then get ready for yoga. We stopped by Alyssa's room to get her on the way. Before we did our yoga we went to the Dunkin Donuts in the hotel. We got to Yoga and realized it was for little kids. We continued to do it for a little bit and saw Will and Dakota come down. Yeah Dakota just kind of looked at me with disappointment. We all then  decided to go to our rooms and change into our bathing suits to go to the water park. The water park was so much fun. I started  by watching Dakota's little sisters and Emerson, which is Coach's daughter in the wave pool. After we dropped them off we all went around and did our own thing. After the water park Grace and I changed and met with Dakota at lunch, but then Grace left because she didn't want to invade, even though she wasn't. After we ate lunch we went to find everyone and meet up in the arcade, then Alyssa wanted to talk to me alone. We went to the candy store and she wanted the food gummy things, and her birthday was coming up, so I got her some. She then started asking about Dakota and I, how it happened, and how she didn't know. I answered all of her questions and they are all said earlier somewhere. After we finished talking and buying candy we went back to the arcade.

Eventually everyone was tired and we went to sit at the table because we were about to leave, but then the time kept changing. That gave us enough time to get photo strips though and I do not regret doing those. It got to the point where everyone was just tired and wanted to go home because we have been waiting for hours, so we went back to sit at the table. Dakota said he had to go to the bathroom and Halle had to go to her mom's room. I realized they both have been gone for a while, so Will calls Dakota, but Halle answers. Will is asking why she has his phone, but I guess he did not get an answer. Not much longer I see them both walking towards us in the same direction. All the sudden Dakota says, "Merry Christmas" and tosses a stuff animal dog with a Santa hat on it. That was so unexpected, and so sweet, I will never forget that. Finally we are leaving. We load our stuff on the charter bus, and get on to leave. I remember sitting next to him and we were cuddling and he asked, "So...are we official?" I responded,"Sure, I mean yes."

The funniest part to me about the bus ride back was Will and Dakota kept looking at each other and jokingly would compete to be doing something better for us girls.

The bus ride home made me never want to leave...
