Regret.

It's a word that tastes vile on the tongue. A bitter definition of life in to which one bares every once in a while.

People regret things often but one must remember that everything happens for a reason. Destiny is planned out like this, and although at times it seems like destiny was broken or something was done when it shouldn't have sought out like that, we must know that it was sought out to be that way.

Fuck destiny, Jimin thought.

He sat in front of his desk in this quiet night, a light breeze outside making branches tap lightly on the window as thunder was heard in the distance with heavy droplets of rain hitting the roof of the building. Jin had gone home and had told Jimin to come along with him, but Jimin shortly declined with a huff.

It had been three days since the day his world collapsed. Jimin had gone to the funeral accompanied by Jungkook, Jin, and Namjoon. All bid their farewells to the boy with soft skin and bright eyes but outside of the venue. Jimin wouldn't dare step foot into that church, and although it seemed rude not to, he just couldn't bring himself to actually do it.

It seemed so fake, like all of this were some sort of scandal or dream or anything. Jimin still couldn't wrap his head around the fact that Yoongi was actually gone.

He could only beg the gods above that this was some sick and twisted prank on him or that it was all a misunderstanding or that he was sleeping. He doesn't believe any of this could possibly be real.

And that's why although Jimin lost his love, he still hasn't shed a tear.

Oddly enough, Jimin has not once cried in the past few days. Jin is extremely worried and told the younger boy that it's okay to cry, that he should cry, but all Jimin does is stare blankly into the distance with bloodshot eyes and nod.

Now here he sat with a headache as he rearranged cards inside of their book pockets, counting dates and making sure everything was in order so he could return them to shelves. He then saw one book in the corner of his eye and frowned to himself, his heart aching as he read the title: From Here To Eternity.

Jimin grabbed the book and let his fingers brush against the cover, then he held it against his chest and let out a quiet breath, squeezing his eyes shut and biting his lip. Everything still felt unreal.

He opened the book and grabbed the card from inside of it. He saw 'Min Yoongi' under burrower's name; written out in a scribble, his scribble. The ink of the pen bled a bit against the paper to the other side and Jimin flipped the card over. His heart stopped.

There was writing on the other side of the book card.

Jimin's heart sped up as his eyes widened over reading the words scribbled mindlessly. He held the card up to his face with a trembling hand.

This is probably the last letter I'll get to write to you, sweetheart. Thank you so much for everything and more... And I'm sorry I didn't get to say goodbye in person, everything just happened so fast and I didn't want you to worry over me or anything. Pretty things like you shouldn't have to worry. Remember what I said that one night? I fear the end so fucking much.. But as you said, you believe the stars above our sky are beautiful, so I must believe that you think I'm good looking, right? Haha, I'm still as awkward as I was from the start I suppose.. But I did want to tell you again that despite the fact that we talked very little, I could always hear your thoughts. I only hope you could hear mine as well, angel. ~ Yoongi
P.S.~ Thank you for recommending the last good book of my life.
