JUGHEAD POV

I stood in the mirror and buttoned my shirt. I was getting ready to grab my Serpent Jacket, but then I grabbed my fancy jacket and decided to leave my beanie at home.

"Hey mom, I'll be back later tonight." I said. She then walked over to me and handed me keys.

"Don't take your motorcycle, trust me. Take the truck and smile a lot. Also, don't eat fast, eat slow. Last but not least, don't compliment Betty or anyone too much...it'll make you sound like a stalker." Mom said. I nodded and went to the truck. I drove to the Florist and then to the Cooper house. I knocked on the door and Betty opened it. I came in and handed her the bouquet of pink roses.

"Juggie, these are beautiful! What about the other bouquet?"

"These are for your mother." I said. Betty smiled and kissed my cheek and then we went into the kitchen.

"Hello Bottleface." Ms. Cooper sassed.

"Mom, don't start. Where are Polly and Chic? I thought we were gonna have dinner as a family?"

"Chic went to a friend's house and Polly went to friend's house as well. I can just be the 3 of us. Judgehead, I hope you like spaghetti."

"It's my favorite." I smiled. We all sat down and started to eat our food. It was really awkward.

"So Jughead...Betty tells me you like to write. Ever considered joining the Blue and Gold?"

"No, I'm not really one for clubs."

"But you're one for gangs." Ms. Cooper muttered under her breath.

"Mom! Cut it out!" Betty said gritting her teeth.

"He's a criminal, Elizabeth! Also, I did some research on you, Jughead Jones! You were in the car accident with your father 14-years ago!"

"I don't like to talk about it." I whispered.

"You have no idea who killed your father, do you?"

"No."

"It was my husband and Betty's father, Hal Cooper. He was day drinking and slammed into your father. Betty already knew that though." Ms. Cooper shrugged.  I scoffed and went outside and Betty followed me.

"Jughead, Wait!" Betty cried.

"You're father is the reason my father is dead. The worst part is that you knew? And you didn't tell me?!"

"What was I supposed to say?! It was 14 freaking years ago! I thought you knew. I don't understand why you're so upset with me."

"I'm not upset with you...maybe a little. That's why when I asked you about your dad, you didn't want to talk about it. My gosh! You caused my family so much pain!"

"It wasn't me! It was my drink father!"

"I'm so blind! We're so different and that's why we don't work!" I yelled. Betty seemed shocked and shook her head.

"No Juggie, we do work."

"No, Betty! We don't work at all! You're a Northsider and I'm a Southsider. You're on the cheerleading team and I'm in a gang. You're pink princess and I'm the dark knight. I'm sorry, I need to go."

"Are you breaking up with me?" Betty asked beginning to cry.

"I just don't see a happy ending for us." I said. I got in my car and Betty grabbed small rocks and started to throw them at the car.

"Just leave! I can't believe you're leaving me after everything we've been through! I hate you, leave!" Betty screamed. I drove away and I saw Betty break down sobbing. I can't imagine a happy life for us.
