JUGHEAD POV

It was a week and I've had to walk or take the bus to school. My friends have tried to tell me they're sorry and I've forgiven...but I'm still mad about it. I took the blame for them and didn't say their names. Today I was starting Saturday Service. I walked to Sweetwater Church and saw two other guys. I sat down and then a police officer came in.

"Ok, all of you guys are here for a crime you've committed. You have to wear these blue vests to show you're here because if crime. When I take you out to the field beside the road, you're going to see people who wear yellow vests, those are people who are here voluntarily. Stand up!" He screamed. We all stood up immediately out of fear and we had to walk to where we needed to go. It took forever to get there and the man kept screaming at us to move faster.

When we got there, we saw 8 people and a group leader standing out there.

"Hi, my name is Henry, and I'm the group leader. These are my people who are here voluntarily. You guys must be...Isaac, Jake, and Forsythe Pendleton. Welcome to the group. But guys, I have a special announcement. Someone here, is in her Junior year and already had a scholarship to a college! Elizabeth Cooper, here please!" Henry clapped. Betty came to the front. She was smiling and happy. Her smile faded when she saw me.

"You!" We both yelled at the same time. I was going to be working with her for 2-months...gosh no.

"Great! You guys know each other! Betty, maybe you can help him get used to it around here?"

"Oh believe me, he's comfortable with himself. He just hasn't found his brain yet." Betty scoffed.

"Screw you, Cooper!" I yelled.

"Calm down, guys. My volunteers, take the two delinquents over here to the field. I want to talk to Forsythe Pendleton alone." Henry said. Betty glared at me and then went off. I looked at Henry and we was about to give me a lecture.

"This attitude of yours, it's not going to get you through these months. Sheriff Keller told me about you. You're the school bad boy. You and your friends cause chaos for everyone, especially Betty. Get your act together."

"Or What? What'll you do?" I scoffed.

"I'll keep you in here longer, and tell them that you continue to harass, Elizabeth. Do I make myself clear?"

"Crystal." I rolled my eyes. I then went off with the rest of the group and started picking up trash. This was so stupid. After 15 minutes, Betty and I were standing in close distance of each other.

"So you do this on weekends?" I asked. Betty nodded.

"Why? Why don't you go out with friends?" I asked. Betty groaned and then looked at me.

"Why do you care? You hate me, and I hate you. Let's just not talk at all."

"Come on, Betty. I need a friend here."

"Friend? Let's on forget how you made my life torture since 1st grade!"

"Ok, but can we just forget about that and be friends?"

"No, let's face it. You're going to keep bullying me and everyone at school. You're a bad person, and you're never going to change." Betty said.

"Do you really believe that?"

"I know that." Betty said and then walked off. I sighed and continued to pick up trash. After 2 hours l, we were allowed to go home. I took the bus and walked home. I went inside and saw my mom making food and Jellybean watching TV.

"Hi Jughead, how was community service?" Jellybean asked.

"Really boring." I said. I then started to think about everything I had ever done to Betty. Why did I feel so bad?
