I wake up to an empty bed and many text and calls from Damon which I ignore getting up and getting dressed. I grab my phone and walk down stairs to find Nik and Rebekah gone and Josh in the kitchen, “good morning,” he says smiling, sliding a glass of fresh blood over to me.
“Thanks,” I say picking it up and drinking it as my phone rings and I pull it out to see that it is Damon, “to what do I owe the pleasure of hearing your voice after radio silence all summer?”
“Sorry I was a little distracted and I'm glad you finally picked up,” Damon answers.
“What’s wrong Damon?” I ask sitting the glass down.
“It’s about Bonnie,” he pauses and I can tell something is wrong more so now then during the summer.
“Damon, no,” my voice is clearly weak when I say this, “there is no way.”
“Elisha, Bonnie’s gone, she died at the beginning of the summer and Jeremy has been lying to all of us,” I drop my phone letting it hit the island countertop, “Elisha?” I fall to the floor as I feel a sinking feeling in my gut, “Elisha are you still there?” Damon sounds worried like he is breaking down on the inside, “we are having a memorial for her tonight in the woods, if you are feeling up to it come, please,” I hear the call end as I fell arms wrap around me and I break down starting to cry.
An hour passes before I finally calm down completely, “what happened?” I hear Nik ask kind of aggressive.
I stand up to turn around to face him, “Bonnie is dead, she has been all summer but she has been lying to everyone,” he gives me a sad look, “she died bringing Jeremy Gilbert back to life.”
“Elena needed her brother Elisha,” I hear Bonnie says and I look to the right of Nik and see her standing there.
“And now she needs you! She learned how to deal with Jer’s death and she finally accepted it, now she is back in the same spot because her best friend isn’t there anymore and has been lying to her for three months,” I yell back at the ghost of my friend, “they all need you Bon.”
“I'm sorry Elisha, I would have told you but you would have told everyone else I couldn't let that happen,” Bonnie responds.
“And what about now?”
“Jer told Damon, I didn't want him to but he did, I had no way of stopping him,” she tells me pain dripping from her her voice.
“At least now everyone isn’t living thinking you’re alive and well,” I turn to my uncle, “I will be back, I'm going back to Mystic Falls for her memorial,” I walk out of the room heading to my bedroom changing into the same dress I wore to the pastors memorial service texting Tyler before heading to my car.
Tyler: What do you want Elisha?
Elisha: Where are you? I need to talk to you in person about something that you probably know already and no this is not a plot to get you killed.
Tyler: Then what is it about?
Elisha: Bonnie’s dead, they are having a memorial for her and I'm going. Knowing you, you aren't in Mystic Falls so where are you.
Tyler: Smoky mountains by Knoxville, Tennessee, I'm helping a pack of wolves. When did she die?
Elisha: The beginning of the summer, she brought Jeremy back from the dead which killed her in the process. Also meet me at McGhee Tyson Airport, your coming with me to Mystic Falls.
Tyler: What time are you going to be there?
Elisha: Nine
The conversation ended there as I get to the airport and get the next plain to Knoxville which was boarding in a few minutes. The plane ride didn't seem like 4 hours long but it is and once I landed I went to find Tyler which is quite easy since he had his SUV parked out front. He doesn't even hesitate getting into the car as I did and starting the four hour drive to Mystic Falls. On the way I buy a ticket to get a plane back down to New Orleans tonight at six so I can catch up on everything that I missed today.
