Annabelle's POV

Footsteps echoed from down the dark, damp hall. I jumped to my feet, watching from the corner. A short, fat old man with a long gray beard appeared on the other side of the door, gasping for breath. I ran forward, meeting him at the door.

"Cornelius!" I exclaimed. "My, you have grown."

"Professor, what are we doing down here?" Another voice spoke. I tensed and took a step backwards. A young boy appeared just behind Cornelius, carrying the dark hair and tanned skin of a Telmarine. His brown eyes met mine and he blinked in shock. I peered at him, slowly stepping back to the door.

"The Son of Adam." I murmured, my lips curling into a smile when Cornelius nodded.

"Who are you?" The Telmarine asked. I raised a brow in the direction of the half-dwarf.

"What happened to telling him everything?" I asked.

"You try recounting Narnian tales with Lord Miraz breathing down your neck." Cornelius argued. "I told him as much as I could."

"Does he know who he is meant to be?" Cornelius shook his head.

"I'd appreciate it if you would stop talking about me as if I were not here." The boy snapped. From above, the warning bells sounded. I gave Cornelius a pointed look.

"I'm getting the feeling that we are on a bit of a time constraint."

"Lord Miraz had a son." Cornelius stated. "I have to get Caspian out of here." He produced a ring of keys from his robes, beginning to try and fit each one into the lock on my door. I turned my eyes on the Son of Adam, Caspian.

"To answer your question, I am Annabelle the True, Seer and Queen of Narnia." I bowed my head slightly, "It is a pleasure to meet you King Caspian."

"Prince." Caspian corrected.

"For now." I said with a smile. The lock on my door clicked and Cornelius swung the door open, holding his hand out.

"Come on." He pressed when I didn't move right away. I stared at the open door in amazement, then looked around at the four stone walls that had kept me captive for so long.

"1288 years trapped behind these walls and it ends just like that." I snapped my fingers, letting out a laugh. Taking hold of Cornelius' hand, I let him pull me out of the dark. Caspian followed behind us, drawing his sword. The shouting of soldiers reached my ears as we hit open air. I took in a deep breath, filling my lungs with the fresh Narnian air.

We raced down a winding stairway ending right outside the stables. A horse stood patiently at the front, the reigns tied to a post. Caspian ran forward and untied the horse, leading it towards us.

"You must make for the woods." Cornelius instructed as Caspian mounted his horse.

"The woods?" Caspian asked.

"They won't follow you there." Caspian nodded and held his hand out for me. Before I took it, I turned and hugged Cornelius tightly. He let out a small sound of surprise.

"Thank you, my friend, for not forgetting your promise." I whispered in his ear. I grabbed hold of Caspian's arm and he pulled me up onto the horse. Cornelius passed Caspian a small wrapped object.

"It has taken me many years to find it. Do not use it except at your greatest need." He said sternly.

"What is it?" I asked. Cornelius smiled at me.

"When you spoke of a ivory horn all those years ago, I could only think of one thing."

"Susan.." I murmured, to which the half-dwarf nodded.
