Annabelle's POV

I stepped outside of the How, walking on the right side of Peter. Edmund walked on the left of Peter, dressed in full armor. Caspian walked next to me, wearing his Telmarine armor. A large party of Telmarines stood waiting with Miraz at the front. I glanced at Peter, whose lips were drawn into a tight line. I opened my mouth to say something, but a sudden wave of dizziness washed over me.

Susan and Lucy rode through the forest on Caspian's horse, keeping an eye out for any signs of life. Suddenly, the the galloping of horses sounded behind them. Lucy turned her head and her eyes went wide in shock.

"They've seen us!" She exclaimed as the Telmarines broke through the trees, swords at the ready and crossbows loaded. Susan pulled the horse to a stop and jumped off, passing Lucy the reigns.

"What are you doing?" Lucy asked.

"I'm sorry, Lu. It looks like you'll be going alone after all." Susan said, drawing her bow and loading an arrow carefully. Lucy flicked the reigns and rode off, looking back at Susan, her eyes full of fear.

Susan turned towards the oncoming Telmarines and let an arrow fly. Instantly, she loaded another and shot, picking off the Telmarines one by one. The soldiers drew closer, but Susan held her ground. She was knocked to the ground and the Telmarines surrounded her. One dismounted and drew his sword, raising it over his head. Susan's scream echoed into the air.

I opened my eyes to find no time had passed, but Peter was holding my hand tightly. I looked up to see him staring down at me as we began walking.

"What is it?" He whispered as we drew closer to the clearing, his voice nearly drowned out but the cheers of the Narnians.

"Susan." I murmured back, letting go of Peter's hand. "I have to go."

"I'll go." Caspian spoke up, coming to a stop. I stopped, leaving Peter's side and turned to Caspian.

"You're needed here." I argued.

"No, you are." Caspian said, nodding in Peter's direction, who had continued towards the clearing. "He needs you here." Before I could say anything else, Caspian sprinted back to the How to saddle a horse. I watched him go before turning and joining Peter at the front. Edmund passed his brother his helmet. Peter took a deep breath and moved to put it over his head. I held a hand out to stop him and placed a kiss on his cheek.

"Promise?" I asked. A smile tugged at the corner of his mouth.

"Promise." He whispered. I stepped away as Peter placed his helmet over his head and drew his sword, stepping into the clearing. Miraz, on the other side, pulled his own helmet on, a gold replica of a face. Edmund stepped up next to me, nudging me with his arm.

"Is it safe to assume that you have forgiven my brother?" He asked, a small smile on his face.

"What gave it away? The kiss on the cheek or the lack of shouting?" I shot.

"I think it's the fact that Miraz is fighting Peter, and not you." He joked. I shook my head slightly and watched as Miraz and Peter began circling each other.

"He's going to be okay, Annabelle. Have faith." Edmund then whispered, following my worried gaze.

"There is still time to surrender." Miraz spat at Peter.

"Well, feel free." Peter said, taking a battle stance.

"How many more must die for the throne?" Miraz asked.

"Just one." Peter jumped at Miraz. They began to fight strategically, neither one getting an upper hand. Both were skilled fighters, there was no doubt, but through the eye holes of Miraz' helmet, I could see the surprise in his eyes that Peter didn't lose within the first minute. The Telmarines and Narnians cheered loudly for their champions.
