"Alright, I'm going to lift you up on three again. All you have to do is wrap your arms around my neck like before. Okay?" I nodded in approval before smiling. He smiled back with his notorious grin. "One... two... three!" With that, he lifted me up with one swift motion. He walked over to a clearing on a hill. Well, clear other than a few trees and some other naturey things.

Only after stopping did I realize what he had in play for us. Sledding. "What do you think of us sledding together? I figured it'd be fun." He let out a sigh, his hot breath fanning through the air. I kissed his jaw right ahead of where his ear was, my warm lips pressing against his cold skin.

"Are you cold, Jer? We can go inside if that's the case," I expressed in a soft voice.

"If you're fine, then I'm fine. No need to spoil the plans. This snow won't last forever." He gave me a squeeze on my thigh which I was actually able to feel.

"Hey, I felt that."

"Sorry. Didn't think you'd notice," he muttered quietly under his breath.

"No, no. Dude. I could feel you touch my leg and squeeze it. That's like really good. Progress," I said, not bothering to conceal my wide, close-lipped grin.

"So you're saying you want more, now are you?" I could tell what the underlying meaning in the sentence was, my face going pinker than it already was from the cold. I wouldn't have been surprised if he had winked as well.

"Oh, shut up you perve." He began to laugh at my words. "Stop laughing at me," I demanded, a pout filling my face.

"Sorry, it's just so cute when you're mad." He turned his head as much as he could half of his face going over his shoulder. "From what I can see, I can tell you're blushing," he said all matter-of-factly. I looked up at the cloudy sky.

"Let's just get on the sled already."

I already knew that he would end up being exhausted. He just had to go down the hill with me in front of him, our legs entwined so I wouldn't slip out. He also has to stop us before we hit the complete bottom because of the frozen stream. Not to mention, he'd have to lift me up and carry me back up the hill in the deep snow with the sled.

We were almost at the top of the hill. His body heat had increased significantly since we started sledding, keeping me warm despite the freezing temperature. "Starting to get tired, are ya?"

"Well you're not exactly the light middle school girl anymore, now are you?" I scoffed at his statements and smacked his face slightly. "You didn't let me finish. I was gonna say the now you are incredibly muscular like a Greek god."

"That's even worse. I don't wanna look like some ripped guy. Too ripped is ugly." I allowed my chin to rest on his shoulder.

"Thanks a lot. Dude." I rolled my eyes at him saying dude.

"You are giving yourself too much credit. You are not ripped. You're lucky I'm calling you muscular at all."

"That's not what those girls during lunch thought at all. Or ya know, gym. Not to mention cross country." His mentioning of cross country pressed into a mental sore of mine. I constantly wondered if I was ever going to end up running cross country again since my predicament. I didn't think he realized that those two words were really difficult to think about.

Jeremiah threw the sled onto the ground and got me situated onto it. He sat down behind me before pushing us down the hill. We began to slide and the speed escalated quickly. A parade of cheers and laughs broke the crisp air as we slid down.

"Woah, woah. Be careful." I realized how close we were to the frozen stream. "Ah! We're gonna land on the ice!" We skidded into the ditch, the ice-breaking at the contact of us. Our bodies plunged into the icy cold water, my body temperature instantly dropping. "Ooh. I felt that cold spike from head to toe."
