I hear a loud noise, like, someone is throwing a pebble on the window. . . Wait, someone is throwing a pebble on the window. Who would do that at 2 in the morning? I turn around and swing my feet to the floor. Another pebble was thrown. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm coming. I stand up from my bed and walk towards the window. God, I just hope it's not someone planning to murder me.
As I open the window, I see Chris standing 10 feet below me. He motions me to come down. What is this bad boy up to?
"You want me to be injured?!" I half whispered, half shouted.
"No, I'll catch you!"
"I'm trusting you, Chris." I hear myself say out loud. Do I really trust him after all my suspicion that he's cheating on me? Maybe he has an explanation now.
Without hesitation, I put one leg out of the window and then the other. I close my eyes and take a deep breath. I jump down horizontally and land on Chris' arms.
"Told you." Chris says, flashing me a smile. He puts me down slowly. I knit my eyebrows, expecting an explanation to why he would take me out of my beauty sleep. Not like there's any eye-bags already.
He still gives me a smile but I keep my seriousness.
"Everything will be explained. Just come with me." He says, trying to put his arm around my waist. I pull away.
"How do I know that this is not your way of saying, I'm breaking up with you?" I ask, my arms crossed.
He looks shocked, but then answers me calmly, "It's not, I promise."
Just this once I will let a guy fool me again. I don't know why I'm even going to be this soft-hearted. Chris leads me to his car and we start to drive.

Chris and I arrive at his mansion with blasting music turned on. The car windows are vibrating from the beat of the music. Damn, don't they get any noise complaint around here? But most of all, what's the occasion for throwing this party?
"What's going on?" I ask, opening the door and the blasting music hurting my ears. I swear, it felt like something wet was coming out of my ears.
Chris's hand lands on my back. I look at him and he looks at me, a big grin on his face.
"You'll see." He replies, winking at me and leading me towards the door. Once we got in, someone puts the music on low volume and people stopped dancing and are now staring at us. I blink twice and look at Chris again. I give him a questioning look but he is looking at the crowd. I look back at the crowd of people and they are forming two lines, a big space in between, as if we're king and queen.
Chris put both of his hands on my eyes to cover them.
"What are you doing?" I ask, suddenly shocked by his shaking hands.
"You'll see." He says again.
Chris leads me and I'm pretty sure that we're going to the pool area.
We have stopped walking and Chris uncovers my eyes. There in front of me is a big sign saying:
Happy 6 Month Anniversary!
Written in big bold letters. Oh my God, is it our anniversary? I am totally the worst human being and girlfriend in the world. I guess I was too wrapped up into my own problems that I completely forgot about my boyfriend and I. Has 6 months gone by already?
I turn around to face Chris and give him an apologetic look.
"I'm really, really, really sorry that I forgot!" I apologize.
