It was her seventh year at Hogwarts and Lilly Evans just wanted to reconnect with her childhood friend Sevrous Snape. Snape also wanted to talk to Lily and apologize for calling her a mudblood several years ago. They both agreed to go to and have a butter beer or two and talk. However, one butter beer turned a fire whiskey and a fire whiskey turned into two then three and eventually they were both drunk. They stumbled into a inn and they had a night that only Lilly would remember.
Weeks later, Lilly went into the hospital wing complaining about morning sickness and Madam Pomfrey ran some tests.
"Congratulations Miss Evans. Would you like me to call James in here to tell him?" The older witch asked.
"No, please don't tell James." Lilly begged.
"Why not? He has the right to know." She argued.
"It isn't James'. Can you please call Professor Mcgnagall in here?" Lilly asked with tears in her eyes.
Soon the kind but strict witch was in the hospital wing and Lilly had the Madam and the Head of the House sworn to secrecy and the three managed to keep the entire pregnancy a secret.
The baby was born in the hospital wing without any outsider knowing on Friday, April 13, during a full moon. She had a tuff of black hair, extremely pale skin, and black eyes with green specks dancing around the pupil.
"What will her name be?" Mcgnagall asked Lilly.
"I won't name her, I will leave that up to whoever adopts her or the orphanage." Lilly said with sorrow.
"I will take her to an orphanage then. Will you write her a letter for me to give her when I see her here at Hogwarts?" Mcgnagall asked picking up the child gently and cradling her.
"I will, and I also have put my necklace that I have charmed to protect her a bit on her as well." Lilly said taking one last look at her daughter.
"We will be off then the orphanages in this area are full so I will be taking her to the only open one that actually takes good care of it's orphans and has a high adoption rate. Sadly it is in Japan but a requirement in Japan is learning English so she should be fine." The older witch said then left with the baby girl to Japan.
The girl went to Kunugigaoka Orphanage and was raised there. The orphanage caretaker, Miss Onnaka named Lilly's child Hanako But did not give her a last name. At age four, Hanako  was able to read, write, and speak perfect Japanese. At age 6 she could do the same with English and a year later French. At age 5 she started schooling and breezed through it like it was nothing. Then, at age 10, she was accepted into Kunugigaoka Junior High school into class 1-A. She became friends with Karma and Nagisa who were in the D class. She understood that Karma was just a trouble maker so he was booted down a few classes and that Nagisa was hardly hanging in there and trying to keep his mother happy. She also became friends with Asuno and his main group of friends. Asuno sees her as his little sister and his friends treat her that way as well. She just happens to be number one in the entire school for test grades and overall performance which has given her respect from all of the students and favors with Asuno's father. Hanako has kept her hair short, in a boy hair style, and wears the male uniform that Nagisa does. She learns basic self defense from Karma on weekends and in exchange helps him set pranks on jerks who deserve it. When she turned eleven, she went off to school like every other day but Miss Onnaka got a visit from a certain professor.
"How May I help you?" Onnaka asked Mcgnagall.
"Hello, I am looking for a child that was left here exactly eleven years ago. Her mother didn't name her and just had me drop her off here." Mcgnagall told the caretaker.
"Oh, you are looking for Hanako. She is at school right now." Onnaka said cheerfully.
"But all schools a child of her age should be at ended a few hours ago." Mcgnagall pointed out.
"Oh, Hanako is the perfect student. She is currently finishing up her second year at Kunugigaoka Junior High School on a full ride scholarship in the 2-A class. She worked so hard to get there, it was her dream for a few years." Onnaka told the witch.
"I am from a private school in Scotland and am here to register her for the up coming year." Mcgnagall told the caretaker.
"She has signed a contract with her school now and she will complete her schooling there until it's time for college. But I guess you can go and argue with the chairman to transfer her. And I will go with you as her guardian." Onnaka said and grabbed her bag.
"Niki and Mei are in charge until I get back. Snacks are on the table!" Onnaka shouted making sure all the children heard her.
"Lead the way" Mcgnagall told Onnaka.
The two walked to the school and got permission to speak with the chairman.
"Chairman Asano, this is Professor Mcgnagall, she is here from a private school in Scotland and wants to enroll Hanako for the upcoming year." Onnaka introduced.
"Hello Professor Mcgnagall, it is nice to have you here but I cannot just let my best student go off to another school. She signed her contract with the scholarship and loves it here." The chairman stated calmly.
"She has been on the enrollment list since birth." Mcgnagall argued.
A knock on the door interrupted the argument,
"Come in" the chairman stated.
The door opened revealing Asuno and Hanako.
"Is this a bad time chairman?" Hanako asked gently.
"No, come on in. Miss Onnaka and Professor Mcgnagall are here trying to enroll you at a different school." The chairman told the two students.
"But I don't want to leave! I work so hard to stay here!" Hanako shouted.
"Your mother wanted you to go to the school I work at." Mcgnagall told Hanako.
"I don't care. She obviously didn't want me so I am living my life off of my own hard work." Hanako told the witch.
"It wasn't that she didn't care, she just had you while she was still in school. And not with the man she ended up marrying and was dating at the time. She did love you." Mcgnagall informed the girl,
"If she loved me, than why isn't she here herself?" Hanako asked.
"Before she could come find you again, she was murdered along with her husband. Now the only way I can keep my promise to your mother, the girl I practically saw as a daughter, is if you attend the school she went to and wanted you to go to." The witch snapped.
"But I want to attend this school." Hanako stated with tears in her eyes.
"Maybe we can set up a way for you to attend both." The chairman said calmly.
"Really?" Hanako asked excitedly.
"I am willing to compromise." Mcgnagall stated.
"Great. How about she attends your school during breaks of ours and attends our school on your breaks. Then she goes to either school on days she cannot miss like exams?" The chairman asked.
"She will not be missing too many days of your school, we do have our ways. I will have to ask that she gets moved down into a easier workload class once our year starts. But keep her A class on paper and giver her the same tests as A class." Mcgnagall asked knowing that Hanako would need to get used to things.
"Of course, whenever your school year starts Hanako will be moved down to E class but will have the same privileges as A class and be an A class student on paper files. Hanako, are you at an agreement to this?" The chairman asked.
"As long as I remain in A class on files and the rest of A class knows of my reason of not taking the same classes than I am okay with it. Just let me finish this last semester of class 2 without a messed up schedule." Hanako stayed politely.
"Of course child. Asuno, I trust you will deliver this news to the rest of A class. She is your friend after all and I am sure Hanako would like to remain on nice terms with the A class and not be mistaken as an actual E class?" The chairman asked his son.
"Of course Father. I will make sure everyone knows before Monday morning. Hanako, will you still be available for the activities we all want to take you to for your birthday?" Asuno asked Hanako.
"Will I?" Hanako asked Miss Onnaka and Mcgnagall.
"I am afraid your birthday party will have to wait Miss Hanako. I have to take you to get your required materials and enrollment done. We should be back by tomorrow." Mcgnagall announced.
"Sorry Asuno. Can we move it to tomorrow?" Hanako asked.
"Of course. We don't want to harm your education." Asuno said sadly.
"If That is everything, please everyone have a nice evening." The chairman said and everyone left the room.
"See you tomorrow then Hanako." Asuno said giving her a hug then leaving as well.
"Professor Mcgnagall, I am trusting you with Hanako to set up her school enrollment. Please forgive me Hanako, happy birthday!" Onnaka said then ran off back to the orphanage.
"Well Miss Hanako, please take my arm." Mcgnagall told the child.
"Okay?" Hanako said and did as she was told.
The two apparated to Diagon Ally.
"What just happened?!" Hanako asked shocked that no one was speaking Japanese on the streets.
"Welcome to Diagon Ally. Right now we are in London. Your English is perfect by the way, if it wasn't for the accent I wouldn't be able to tell that it wasn't your first language." Mcgnagall told the girl.
"How?!" She asked still shocked.
"That was apparition, you are a witch Miss Hanako, like my self. Which is why it is important that you attend Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry as a first year when the new school year starts."
"How can I be a witch, that should be impossible!" Hanako said panicking.
"Your mother was one and so was your father. This is a place where students shop for their school needs for Hogwarts. Adults also set up there shops and purchase things here as well in the wizarding world." Mcgnagall stayed calming the girl down a bit.
"Okay, I am a witch, but how do I purchase anything, I don't have any money." Hanako asked.
"Your mother, Lilly, did start a small vault for your education. He husband, once she told him of you, placed a portion of his vault into yours. It should be over the amount you need to purchase all for your school needs. I have your key so come along, off to Gringotts.
"Okay" she replied not quite understanding what was going on.
The two witches went to the bank and took a small bag full of money, enough for books and everything else.
"Okay, first on the list, let's go buy your cauldron and potion ingredients." Mcgnagall stated and dragged Hanako to the apothecary shop.
When they got there, a certain potions master was also purchasing some ingredients.
"Hello Severus." Mcgnagall greeted.
"Hello Minerva. Who is this with you?" He asked in a cold voice.
"This is Hanako, she just turned eleven and will be attending Hogwarts when the next year starts. We are here picking up her supplies for your class." Mcgnagall informed Snape.
"Hello Professor." Hanako said politely.
"Tell me Miss Hanako, What is the difference between monkshood and wolfsbane?" Snape asked.
"I use those to gather chemicals in chemistry. They are the same plant." Hanako answered shocking both professors.
"Why would you asked a child who isn't even a first year a third year question?" Mcgnagall asked Snape.
"It looks like I will finally have a student worth teaching. Miss Hanako, I look forward to having you in my class, and I hope you end up in Slytherin." Snape said then left the store.
"What is Slytherin?" Hanako asked Mcgnagall.
"It is a house at Hogwarts. There is Slytherin for the cunning, Hufflepuff for the loyal, Ravenclaw for the intelligent, and Gryffindor for the brave." Mcgnagall explained.
"Gryffindor or Slytherin sounds nice. I wouldn't complain to be in Ravenclaw though." Hanako mumbled.
"Severus teaches potions and is the head of Slytherin. I teach transfiguration and I am the head of Gryffindor." Mcgnagall told Hanako.
"Well then, I guess I have to work ten times harder in your and his class now don't I?" Hanako asked only half kidding.
"You need to do your best in every class dear. It's the only way to succeed as someone who wasn't raised in the world of magic." Mcgnagall said sadly.
"I always aim to be top of the class. You won't have to worry. Due to my A class experience, I can take notes almost instantly. It has almost gotten too easy in there." Hanako said and purchased the required items and then a few more in depth books on potions.
"Alright then, next let's get the  rest of your books." Mcgnagall said and took her to the next store.
Hanako purchased all the required books then also bought books that met her interest like
Advanced Potions
Transfiguration in Depth

She would have bought more books but she wanted to have enough money to buy her robes and wand.
"Do you need help carrying your books? They are taller than you are." Mcgnagall asked somewhere in between being impressed and laughing.
"No, I have carried more my first year at Kunugigaoka. This is nothing." Hanako replied.
"Anyway, let's get you fitted into your robes." Mcgnagall said and took her to Madam Malkin's.
"Hello dearie, Hogwarts?" Madam Malkin asked.
"Yes" Mcgnagall answered for her.
Luckily for her, Madam Malkin thought she was a boy and gave her the boy uniform. Hanako hates wearing skirts and dresses. After that, Mcgnagall sent Hanako to get her wand while she went somewhere else.
When she walked in the store, she was greeted by Olivander.
"Hello, Who are you?" Olivander asked.
"I am Hanako."
"Last name?" He asked.
"I don't know, Hanako is the name the orphanage gave me.
"Hmm, try this wand, hawthorn wood, 11 inches, phenix feather."
She waved it.
"No, how about silver vine, 10 1/4 inches, dragon heartstring, surprisingly swishy."
She waved it and felt a calming wave of cold wash threw her.
"Perfect! 15 gallons please." Olivander said.
Hanako handed him the money and took her wand. When she stepped out of the store, Mcgnagall had a pitch black owl with a silver beak.
"Happy Birthday Hanako." She said kindly.
"You didn't have to get me anything." Hanako protested.
"But I did, I was there the day you were born, and I knew your mother and father. Your mother was practically my daughter. So happy birthday. You can use this owl to send letter to the friends you will meet at Hogwarts." Mcgnagall explained.
"Thank you." Hanako said softly.
"Well, let's get you back before Miss Onnaka worries too much. The next time I see you will be just before school to give you your ticket and possibly a time turner so you can get to Kunugigaoka on time every day.
"You know, I am not even going to ask what that is and hopefully it will appear in my reading." Hanako said tiredly.
"That's a good call, hold on." Mcgnagall said then they were at the orphanage.
They walked into the orphanage with Hanako's arms full of everything they bought.
"Good, your back. Karma and Nagisa are waiting in your room to wish you a happy birthday. They wouldn't stop bothering me so I just let them up to your room." Onnaka stared tired.
"I will be back a few days before the start of her term, and I will bring more information, but for now she has everything she needs." Mcgnagall said then left.
"What are you waiting for? Go up to your room. The boys are waiting." Onnaka said making Hanako smile.
Hanako walked up the stairs careful not to drop anything and went into her room to see Nagisa and Karma sitting in her bed. Once she set everything down on her desk, they yelled, "Happy Birthday Hanako!"
Hanako just smiled at her perfect day.
