My mother came home with a birthday cake, and surprisingly Dr. Gibson came as well, I knew he had a thing for my mum, but it'll never work, she's still waiting for my father to come back home. I kept telling her to move on, but the women is head over heels for my father.

"Happy birthday, i wish my daughter was here, she'd be celebrating with you", Gibson said. His daughter was the same age as me, but it was awful to know I lost a friend. Gibson also had a son, but he was much older than me, he was mature and always working.

That night was spent with laughter and love. When I went to sleep, the voices of my family singing happy birthday to me lingered in my mind, until I fell asleep. I was officially eighteen, my mother agreed on letting me out, but what about a job?

My worries came back, I needed to start thinking of a permanent career.

~~~
"Fuck!" I groaned, as I turned my alarm off, I rolled off the bed, hitting my head on the ground, "my first day being eighteen, and it already sucks" I said, getting off the floor. My mother already left, and I for once had a busy day going.
I wore a huge jumper, and jeans, it was my everyday style, I hated wearing short shorts or skirts, it made me feel disgusting.
I headed out the door hurriedly, and eagerly to get my errands done. Today I was to find a job, anywhere, and buy some things. I really wanted to see an application form for the nearest arts school, but I knew it'd cost too, despite my mother being a psychologist and earning money.
Nate
Yes. Her. She was the one.
Beautiful, talented, perfect body, angelic voice, all in all fantastic.
Althea was her name, I met her yesterday at the park, I just moved here, after being released from jail in New York, for theft, they said if they ever catch me again, I'll be sentenced for life, or something like that. Plus I don't need to worry, I have my team to help me bail out.
Althea was the one, she reminded me so much about every victim I've killed, but she was a bit different, it seemed like she had a dream or passion, but she couldn't figure out how to get there. She was on my mind the whole night, I'm not going to lie, I like this girl. A lot.
My uncles apartment was nice, I thought houses in the suburbs were rusty and disgusting, but this was perfect for me. I had convinced and threatened my uncle to give me his place, but when he refused... let's just say, I dealt with him.
Oh his screams of agony were music to my ears. Lenny, one of my friends even said I was crazy for laughing the whole time. But I'm glad to have him, he helped me through my depression, I had to kill them. He accepted my decisions on killing people, I became psychotic, and I loved it. I never had a first love, or first anything. It wasn't my thing.
My mother always told me I'd find someone to take care of me, or love me. But here I am still waiting.
I laid in my bed, of my uncles and now my, apartment, my head in my hands, I was thinking of her again. Althea. Shit. A cold shower wouldn't even treat this. I'm fucked up, I just met her and I'm having sexual thoughts. Then I was reminded her birthday, a smirk appeared my face, I know the perfect present.
You see my plan was to gain her trust, and befriend her, maybe a relationship, I just want to have fun, after all the giggles and cuddles, I'll kill her, no one will know.
I was yet to change everything in the apartment, and throw out all of my uncles trash into my own things, I dug into my bag, and reached for a necklace, that was very important to me. My smirk grew bigger, I looked for a fancy box, and I laid the necklace in it. Her birthday present.
Yes, this will do.
I put on my coat, and walked out of my apartment. My phone rang, and I angrily picked up, "what?!" I huffed, "sir, we found the girl from yesterday, she's a at bookstore" I heard Danny's voice on the line. "Make sure she stays there", I heard Danny say a faint 'yes' and I hung up.
Right where I want her.
I walked my way through the shops and I eventually found my way to the bookstore, I saw her small figure, I could just engulf her in my body, I could do a lot more than that. I walked in, the bells jingled as I stepped foot in the premises. Her body turned towards me, her face lit up.
"Hey!, you again, didn't know you liked books", she said, her voice giving me joy.
"Yea, I actually like reading, what are you doing here?"
Half of that was a lie, I hated reading, unless it had to do with death, all this romance shit wasn't my thing.
"I'm actually getting a job here, I can at least get money, and pay for my own things" she said scratching her neck. I chuckled and ruffled her hair. It felt so smooth, I wondered how she smelt like.
After she finished talking to the receptionist, she linked our arms and we left, it was all so sudden but I loved her touch, her voice, her everything. "Sorry, it's cold, and plus we're friends" she smiled up at me, and pulled her close, she was warm. "yea, friends" I repeated.
We ended up going shopping together, she didn't like clothes shopping, which was odd for a teenage girl. I almost forgot her present. I stopped her and she looked at me.
"Nate, whats wrong?" Her voiced called for me. I shook my head. And reached into my pocket, getting the box out and giving it to her. "Here, happy birthday", I smiled, her face lit up, and she grabbed the box.
"Oh, Nate, we only just met, this is too much" she shook her head, I grabbed her shoulders and smiled, "it's a gift, please take it" I said.
She put on the necklace, and walked to the nearest mirror, and I followed behind her.
"You'll be mine"
Intense already?
By the way, Gibson is the last name of the doctor, I'll be calling him that for the rest of the story, so do not get confused, that Gibson is his first name, it's his last name.
