Emma Chamberlain

Please dont answer, I chant in my head as I glance over at Amanda who sat on the edge of the sofa.

"Yellow?" Answers a voice though the phone.

"Actually its Emma" I respond with a slight laugh.

"Hey, I was getting worried that you'd given that guy that speech and he'd beat you up" he chuckles and I gulp down, so happy that I had fought with Amanda to keep the phone off of speaker phone.

"Was it really that bad?" I ask sadly sighing.

I leave the front room and lock myself in my bedroom, knowing that the conversation couldn't go on forever because school was set to start in half an hour.

"No no... i didnt mean-" he tries to say but I cut his sentence short.

I can imagine the panicked expression on his face at this very moment, it's probably like the one he had given me when I had stopped him forcefully with my hand on his chest in that alley.

"It was worse than bad. I get it" I chuckle and rub my hands down my black pants, trying to move the conversation on.

"So can i ask some questions or-?" Grayson starts through the phone.

"Go ahead" I laugh pressing my phone onto speaker phone so that I can start to hurriedly get dressed with the little amount of time I have.

"Where do you live?" Grayson asks and I reply with my road and return the question.

Funnily enough he lives a road down from me which I find strange as I still had no idea who he was, even though it seemed to be such a small world.

He must be in a quiet friendship group, I thought as I pull a tight top over my bra, probably one of those groups that stayed in a classroom to eat their dinner

"I actually live with 2 of my best friends, Amanda and Olivia. You might know them?"

"Of course I know Liv" he says shortening Olivia's name which slightly irritates me, mainly because I know how much she equally hates it "how come you LIVE with them. We're 17" Grayson chuckles and I explain my parents situation in Tasmania.

Grayson actually seems interested to my surprise which is really nice. No boys are ever ACTUALLY interested in me unless it's my bra size or how many times I've fucked.

"So youre single?" He asks almost as if he had been reading my mind which makes me extremely nervous.

"Right" I laugh back, scrambling for my homework and neatly placing it in my bag hoping it won't crease before my first class.

"What about you, Grayson?" I ask scrolling through my notifications quickly noticing the time and hurrying back down the stairs pressing the phone to my ear between my cheek and shoulder.

"Im called Grayson. Im 17 nearly 18 very soon. I have a twin brother but there's not much to tell you really apart from the embarrassing or deep stuff"

The end sentence intrigues me and I plead for him to tell me what could possibly be THAT embarrassing or deep that he couldn't tell me.

"I'm-" he takes a deep breath in "-Im-" the line goes silent.

"Gray? Grayson? Are you there?" I ask pressing the phone further into my ear as I bang on the wall to tell Amanda to hurry up before we're both late.

"Urm yeah-" he stutters.

"You don't have to tell me it's fine" I smile and I hear his breathing slow back down.

"Wow your the first person who hasnt started firing more questions. Thank you"

Wow. Those people were ass' if they forced him into telling them something he obviously isn't comfortable talking about.

"You can tell me in your own time. After all we are each others therapists" I laugh and he laughs too "This is the start of a friendship" I shout excitedly down the phone.

I end the call and scream down the hall for Amanda to get out the door in precisely 2 seconds.
