Emma Chamberlain
"I'm proud of you for coming today" Olivia smiles, linking her arm with mine.
The bruising had significantly gone down on my throat and luckily the school's uniform's shirt covered most of the darkness.
My first lesson on a Wednesday was always Literature and when I walk in there is an awful silence that makes me want to hide in a hole.
I hadn't missed a school day in all my years at QUEENS especially since my parents expected great things from you after being so gravely disappointed with Emre's attitude, attendance and academic achievements.
"Is all okay, Emma?" Miss Holding asks which makes everything SO much worse.
What type of nerd even has teachers asking about their well being?
I nod and take my seat at the back of the class room. There's a lot of commotion and because I'm self conscious I decide to listen in, just to put my mind at ease
"What's happened?" I ask one of the popular girls, her book said Summer which made sense when her friends referred to her as Sums as they hit her arm to get her attention for me.
"Oh you won't have heard since you weren't here yesterday, but apparently" she leans in closer and her friends do the same.
They cock their heads towards Ethan Dolan who literally just entered the classroom
"Ethan didn't come yesterday because he got in a BIG fight" I nod along.
Bullshit.
He came to my house, for me, right?
There's a sinking feeling in my stomach.
Shit, maybe my house was just an escape route.
"I heard it was really serious, he was in hospital the whole day apparently" one of the other girls say and Summer nods along in agreement and slowly leans back away from you to stare back onto Miss Holding who looked like she was going to loose it over Ethan's lack of attention.
Surely it was just another lie, he hadn't been in hospital all day because he'd been with me till like 4. But who knew? When I woke up he was gone. And there's multiple more hours after 4 that he could've got in trouble in.
I sigh looking across at his beautifully flicked and thick brown hair. I hope it's lies.
During break there's rumours that another fights about to break out, and even though my two friends had no intentions to be concerned about the bad boys, they were nosey and were therefore willing to run with me to witness the start of the fight.
It was a popular pretty boy, his name began with a J but that's all you knew about him apart from that he had a very pretty sister called Zoe. And from the shouts it sounded like she was the reason for the conflict.
I spoke to Zoe quite a lot but only due to her great acting skills which usually meant Miss Hough put us together in theatre.
The dude shouting was sporting a football shirt and with my limited knowledge I could only guess that it was the school's team.
"So which one of you drugged my sister at Saturday nights party? The only one you knew I couldn't attend" the football dude hollers.
I watch back in horror, I wasn't even surprised that that night actually managed to get progressively worse.
The bad boys weren't even facing the footballer until he spoke, in which a few of them turned round briefly before scowling and looking back.
"I'm talking to you" this kid shouts grabbing hold of the nearest boy which was Kian who immediately shoves him backwards where he tumbles.
