Her Guardian

Chapter 8

Daniel

I held her as I made my way to my room. The poor girl could barely walk. She clutched my shirt, her soft breaths hitching in an unsteady rhythm.

I looked down at her. She was looking at her legs, both her hands clutching my shirt.  She seemed unaware of it. Her mind was lost in deep thought.

Her brows were furrowed when I reached my room. I held her easily with one hand as I pushed open the door, I had forgotten to lock it.

I helped her sit on the couch while I pulled out clothes from the closet. All I had were my old t-shirt and shorts which I assumed wouldn't  fit her.

The dress she was wearing now was faded. It was torn in several places, stained with blood and dirt. The dress was almost grey now. I wondered which colour it had been.

I pulled out my cellphone and called a vampire slave who worked in the castle.

Hello, sir Daniel.

I er... need  clothes for my  pet. undergarments and all other toiletries. Hair brushes, clips, scrunchies..namely everything for a female pet. Get me how many ever good ones you find. Take a female slave with you, she'll know the good ones.

Yes sir, may I know her size for the clothes?

Size... uh..

I looked at Alice who was now seated on the floor, hugging her knees.

Size.... I guess is XS.

Ok  sir, we'll deliver them in about 60 minutes.

1 hour? No I need it in 30 minutes.

Uh... Yes sir, in 30 minutes we'll deliver them.

Hmm... Thank you.

I kept the cellphone away and went to Alice. She looked at me with fear as she hugged her knees tighter.

" Alice, you need not be scared of me. I might be your master, but you can always consider me your friend."
I said kneeling down in front of her.
 
She looked at me like she did not believe me at all.

Tears were welling in her eyes. But she quickly wiped them. " I - I'm sorry m-master. I couldn't control my tears." she whispered.

" You can call me Daniel. And you can  cry if you want to, I won't punish you..

Alice suddenly burst into tears falling onto me. I hugged her and whispered into her hair. Her hand clenched and unclenched my shirt. Sobbing her heart out.
