Rick and Jonathan are using sledge hammers against the ceiling. Evy is gently chipping away with a tiny chisel. Maggie leans against the wall sweating. Rick made her take a break. She started getting a bad feeling like something was off. Her thoughts are cut off, "According to my calculations, we should be right under the statue. We'll come up right between his legs." Evy says as Maggie snorts. Rick looks at her in amusement.
"And when those dirty Yanks go to sleep--" Jonathan adds, "No offence" he looks to Rick.
"None taken." He says bashing his hammer against the ceiling.
"--We'll sneak up and steal that book right out from under them." Jonathan finishes.
"And you're sure you can find the secret compartment?" Rick questions the siblings stopping to look at them.
"Yes, if their Egyptologist hasn't already found it." Evy remarks with a bit of attitude.
Jonathan looks around in question, "I say, what's our smelly little friend got himself up to?"
Maggie looks to him, "I don't know but where ever he is I'm glad he's gone" She says. Jonathan looks to her.
"Mags, are you okay? You look pale." Jonathan asks his little sister in major concern. Rick stops what he's doing to look over at her.
"I'm fine don't worry about me. I just have a bad feeling." Maggie says going back to leaning against her wall.
"Let's take a break." Jonathan says taking a seat by his little sister and grabs her hand.
---------
"Lemme get this straight, they stuck a sharp, red hot poker up your nose, cut your brain into small pieces, then ripped it all out through your nostrils?" Rick asks the girls with Maggie in his lap.
"Owch! That's really got to hurt." Jonathan exclaims while golfing rocks on the ground with a sledge hammer.
"It's called mummification. You're dead when they do this." Evy says as a matter of factly. Maggie rolls her eyes at her younger sister.
"still...." Jonathan mumbles from his spot.
"Yeah, that'd bring you back to life." Rick says as Maggie sighs into his shoulder.
"You two are worse than a couple of schoolboys." She mumbles, and that's when a huge chunk of the roof suddenly gives out. Rick, still having Maggie in his arms, rolls and pulls her to safety. Jonathan and Evy dive for a far wall. A massive stone casement drops out of the ceiling and crashes to the floor. Dust flies and fills the room.
The dust is starting to clear. Rick, Maggie, Evy and Jonathan slowly get up and step over to the massive stone casement. Rick holds Maggie close, "Are you okay?" He asks her his eyes and voice full of concern. Maggie just nods. He pulls her closer.
"Oh my god, ...it looks like, it looks like a sarcophagus." Evy says astonished and amazed at the sight in front of her.
"Why would they bury somebody in the ceiling?" Rick his asks angrily still holding Maggie tightly to his chest.
"They didn't, they buried him at the foot of Anubis. He was either someone of great importance. or he did something very naughty." Evy explains to him. She looks back in jealousy. She likes him and she knows she shouldn't but she couldn't help it. She wants what they have so bad.
Rick, Evy and Maggie clear the dirt off the top of the sarcophagus, revealing a single, ominous hieroglyph. Evy stares at it Jonathan impatiently strums his fingers across the lid, "Well? Who is it?" He asks.
Evy stares at the hieroglyph, confused and concerned, "He that shall not be named."
Rick dusts off the huge lock, "There's some sort of lock here. You say these thing's are made of granite with a steel interior?"
"Quarried granite with a cobalt lining." Evy also adds studying the casement.
"Whoever's in here, sure wasn't getting out." Jonathan also adds looking at his youngest sister. Maggie backs away getting an uneasy feeling just looking at it.
"No kiddin', without a key, it'll take us a month to crack this thing." Rick says looking up and down at the case.
Evy's eyes brighten up, "A key! That's it! That's what he was talking about."
Rick looks at her questioningly, "Who was talking about what?"
Evy starts rummaging through the pack on Jonathan's back, "The man on the barge. The one with the hook, he was looking for a key."
Evy pulls out the box. Jonathan tries to take it back, "Hey that's mine!"
Evy slaps his hand and quickly unfolds the box, --it's now shaped exactly like the lock's keyhole. Evy smiles. And that's when they hear the Warden's screams echoing through the labyrinth. All three of them turn and take-off running.
Labyrinth - Day
The Warden is screaming and dancing insanely around the labyrinth, totally freaked from the extreme pain in his head. Rick, Maggie, Evy and Jonathan run up just as the Warden starts ripping his own hair out of his head. Rick and Jonathan grab at the Warden's hands, but he's far too crazed, he shoves them aside, runs full bore down the length of the labyrinth and slams his head straight into a rock wall. The Warden drops to the ground. Dead as lead. Eyes wide open. Rick, Maggie, Evy and Jonathan just stand there staring, breathing hard, wide-eyed themselves. Rick pulls Maggie to him and buries her head into his shoulder.
