Raven POV
"Hey Reyes"
I heard her, and I wanted to respond I did but I couldn't. I tried to force myself to wake up.
"I don't know if you can hear me"
"Yes! Yes, I can hear you!" I wanted to scream but for whatever reason no matter how much I willed it, I couldn't wake up.
"But, I just want you to know I'm sorry, this was my fault if I hadn't begged to go home this wouldn't have happened"
Clarky no! This isn't your fault at all! You didn't drive that car that hit us, you couldn't have known it was going to happen.
"Hey, do you wanna hear something funny?"
Yes please, no more sad shit
"I fell asleep here last night and I had a dream"
She fell asleep here? Has she been here since the accident? If so, how long is that?
"It was a great dream, you were there and so was my dad"
Oh god her dad. He died in a car crash
"We were all dead though, but it was okay cause we were there together"
I have to wake up now!
"It's almost like it didn't matter that Octavia or Monty or Emori or Murphy or Jasper or Bellamy wasn't because... you were there"
Clarke what are you saying
"God Raven I love you so much"
I could hear her crying. Dammit! Wake up Raven, get back to her!
"I love you so much and I'm wondering if that dream was true"
Wake up wake up wake up! I was chanting
"I think it's true. I think if I was with you nothing else would matter, no matter what I had to do to be with you"
Clarke don't give up. Please. I'm not gone yet. I'm not gone but I'm not there either.
"Raven"
That's all she said, all she had left to say, my name, and it came out like a strangled sob. That's what set off the spark. Next thing I knew I could see a hazy blonde figure next to me.
"Clarke..." I heard myself say softly
"Raven!"
There it was again, my name but this time it was filled with hope and joy and I couldn't help but smile
"I'll go get the doctor!" She said happily
There was no trace of the crying desperate girl I witnessed only seconds ago, and It was all because of me. Knowing this was the best feeling in the world
"RAAAAAAAVVVVVEEEEENNNNN"
Octavia. I'd know that scream anywhere
Octavia ran in closely followed by Monty and Bellamy and a couple of seconds later everyone else had arrived too. It was a slew of "I'm so glad you're awake" and "Do you feel okay?" and it made my head spin. Then, everything quieted and in came Clarke with a woman in a white lab coat behind her.
"Hello Raven," The woman said, she had a cool calming voice
"I hate to tell you this so soon after you woke up but I'm afraid it had to be done"
I'm afraid too because when she said this everyone looked down like they already knew what was coming
"Raven...you have permanent damage to your spine"
I could she was stalling, that something bigger was coming
"And we believe you'll never walk again"
I know I was supposed to be defeated but ironically I felt like I was flying. I was happy being here with all my friends knowing that they cared so much about Some bad shit happened but I'm not gone. I am here.
AN: Ahhhhh I really hope this turns out as good as I wanted it to. I don't usually point out my inspirations or the references I make in a story but this time it's something really important to me that line "I am here" Is a nod to the song "I'm Here" from "The Color Purple" This song is so powerful and is about just being who you are, being in the moment and appreciating life. Here's the song, I really recommend it
