The next few days were hard, especially for Taehyung. There was a whole assortment of things going on in his brain, to say he was stressed was more than an understatement.

"You've been oddly quiet lately." Jungkook stated, shutting the door behind him. The two of them were back in Seoul, while everyone else was still scattered around dealing with their own business.

"I'm always quiet."

"Yeah, but like you're like really quiet now. Something happen?"

"Just the usual." He muttered back. "You would know."

"Does Jennie?"

"No." Taehyung sighed. "And she doesn't need to. I don't need her worrying about me, it'll just add something else for me to worry about. Like this." He slid a photo across the table to Jungkook, then ran his hand through his dark roots.

It was a picture of Jennie walking with him. Clearly in Daegu.

"So, he knows."

"Yep. Finally found one of my weak points. There's no doubt he'll try something soon."

"You have to get her out of Daegu then. You don't want to risk putting your family in danger." Jungkook bit his lip.

Taehyung nodded slowly. "Yeah. I will."

"Okay." There was another long pause, both the men were in their own worlds.

Jungkook was worried about him. Not necessarily Jennie, he knew she could take care of herself, but rather Taehyung. He had to carry the brunt of it all. Must be awful.

It was frustrating how Taehyung never asked any of them for assistance when it came to leading some sort of offense attack at Baekhyun. Actually, he never even initiated a fight! Jungkook knew he was soft; it must be hard for him to hurt someone who used to be like a brother.

"Are you okay?"

"Hm?" Taehyung looked over, then nodded briefly. "Yeah, I'm fine."

"Really?"

"How's the gunshot?"

"Fine." Jungkook sighed. "Don't avoid the subject."

"What subject? I'm fine, seriously."

"Taehyung!"

They shared a long pause, Jungkook was firm on trying to get him to talk. Which he finally did.

"I'm worried about Nara." Taehyung breathed. "And Jennie. And what the hell is gonna' happen next. I don't know, and I really don't have a plan. I don't know when he's going to spring an attack, or what Baekhyun will do. Will he invade Jennie's house? Or will he come to mine since I live near her? And I can bet he knows who Nara is now—there's no guarantee she's safe, and I don't know what to do about that."

"Tae, why haven't you done something to him yet?"

"I...can't." The man's eyes drifted to the window. "I certainly wasn't made for this life, no matter how hard I try. I can't be like my dad, as amazing as he was at home, I can't pull a cold front like that for long. People know I'm weak, Jungkook. People like Baekhyun know, even Jennie knows!"

"You can't be so hard on yourself! You made it this whole time!"

"Yea, I did. But I don't know how much longer I can hold out. He's getting worse, angrier. It's almost like he actually wants me dead too. Not just Nara."

"Then why haven't you asked for backup? Like me?"

"I don't need you all getting hurt."

"We're in a fucking gang!" Jungkook protested. "We knew what kind of life we were signing up for!"

"It's not necessary for this!" Taehyung yelled back, standing up. "There's certainly better things you could be doing rather than following me like a shadow, or stalking Baekhyun around."

He sighed. "I need air."

jennie and taehyung's relationship isn't going to be one like oozing with romance. like you'll see a lot of them together since it is about them and their relationship, but you won't get a whole bunch of PDA scenes and all that, because if you can tell by their personalities...they aren't really the type to publicly display affection like that

but don't be disheartened! there will still be some scenes 😏
