I walked up to Kyra's house again. She had texted me talking about some weird texts and wanted me to come over, obviously, I said yes.

I saw the door open and I quickly perked up.

When the door was almost completely open, Kyra looked at me and her eyes immediately brightened and then she said, "Hey! I'm so happy I got to see you one more time before I leave."

I felt a pang in my chest. I don't think I had accepted that she was leaving tomorrow, I don't leave until next weekend but I just feel like everything is going by so fast.

We walked up to her empty room, she situated herself on the floor leaning against her closet and I sat in the bay window that revealed the front lawn. For a while, I was just looking out on the road, waiting for Kyra to say something. I was about to break the silence when I caught her staring at me.

I couldn't help but chuckle and said, "Why are you staring at me?"

She looked startled at me calling her out, she sustained her laughter and just said, "Oh no reason."

"What? No way you're getting out of it that easy! Tell me why you're staring at me!"

She scowled at me and laughed before saying, "Okay, Okay fine. I don't know Jace, I'm just really going to miss you, there. Happy?"

This made me happy, she was going to miss me. I smiled and let out a small chuckle of victory and said, "Yes."

The bay window started feeling cramped so I got up and sat on her sleeping bag. I was right next to her and all I wanted to do was hug her, so I did. I hugged Kyra for what felt like ten minutes. I couldn't help but start to tear up, I think I might just be the most sensitive male on planet earth. I tried to not let Kyra notice but she did, she noticed almost immediately.

"Jace, what's wrong?"

"Nothing," I said as I wiped my face, I need to stop being so pathetic.

She looked frustrated and grabbed my face, forcing me to look at her.

"Jace tell me what's wrong."

"I just-" I cut myself off. Don't say it, Jace. Don't you dare ruin everything by saying it.

"Well? You just what?"

I could tell she was invested now, she was not gonna let this go until I gave her some sort of answer. She had to know, she never let anything just remain a mystery.

I could only muster a whisper as my throat suddenly felt dry and flakey when I said, "I never got to tell you..."

"Tell me what? You can tell me now?"
