In books love is described as strong enough to overcome even the toughest of problems- Misha and Jensen loved one another... How could their love not be strong enough? They had given up everything for each other and yet in the end, maybe just maybe it wasn't enough.
"Dawd!" West exclaimed with the biggest smile jumping into his father's arms. "I miwsed yous!"
"Me to buddy," The blue-eyed father smiled with a laugh. "But guess what we have the whole weekend for whatever you want,"
The four-year-old lit up his eyes going wide a smile forming across his lips. "Cowkies?" He asked the excitement in his voice making Misha's heart swell up.
"Yeah... But after this," The raven-haired father mumbled laying his son on the couch barely able to keep in his laughs.
"Wut?" The young boy questioned confused until suddenly he was being tickled to death, the laughs escaping his lips, eyes filling with tears, breath caught in his throat as he tried to wiggle away but his father was just too strong keeping him in place. "S-Stop!"
"Oh yeah and why should I do that?" The father questioned through laughs.
"Becuz you love me!" West exclaimed giggles barely able to be contained.
"Ok... Ok," Misha whispered with a laugh sitting down next to his son... But once his son was able to stop laughing the young boy was climbing on top of him trying to tickle him now.
"Sorry, I'm not ticklish," The blue-eyed father mumbled with a wide smile pushing the hair out of his son's face. "But hey at least we can make cookies now,"
Misha picked up his son taking him to the kitchen setting him on the counter, West began to pout looking away with a sad face, his arms crossed as he never met his father's eyes and that was when the raven-haired man knew something was wrong and it wasn't just because he wasn't ticklish.
"Hey... What is it?" The father questioned trying to meet his son's gaze but when the four-year-olds teary eyes met his that was when his heart shattered.
"I wants two sea yowu moure dawd," He whispered through tears gripping his father's shirt. "Mowm don't play wit mwe- mowm don't lobe mwe!"
"I'm sure that's not true," The father tried to reassure but it didn't really end up working as this only made his son cry more.
"Yews it's iws!" He exclaimed through tiny sobs. "Mowm sawid me a mistake," That was it... It was those words that not only made Misha heavy-hearted but also furious at Victoria- but in the end, after many many thoughts sprang through his mind he knew that there was nothing that he could possibly do.
West stared at him with awaiting eyes, the sobs still wracking his small body as his raven-haired father made sure to wrap him in the biggest hug.
"It's ok," Misha tried to reassure but in the back of his mind, he knew that it wasn't... This was all his fault and even after years and years he was still causing people pain and that was something that he hated. "...Because I love you."
"I want to stay here forever," West mumbled his voice muffled by his father's shoulder. "I don't want to go back."
"I'm sorry but you have to," The blue-eyed father explained as the tears welled up in his eyes but he knew all too well that he couldn't let any fall having to be strong for his little boy. "And there is nothing I can do... But hey while you're here we'll make the most of it."
West looked up from his father's shoulders and into his blue eyes, as Misha whipped away his tears trying to ignore the swelling of his heart as he hated nothing more than seeing his son upset... But there was nothing that he could do.
