Unova

A week had passed. In that time, Kazan had eaten only once and had been able to drink twice. He had not seen the Houndoom since the first day. Kage had been taken elsewhere. Kazan had protested, only to have been beaten. Kazan's fingers traced the scab that had come as a result.

The female scientist from earlier came in, studied Kazan briefly, wrote something on her clipboard, and walked off.

Kazan didn't care. This had been happening every day so far. Plus, he was exhausted from not being able to sleep last night. Kazan laid on his side, closed his eyes, and fell asleep.

Kazan jolted awake to find himself on a helicopter. His arms and legs were bound, preventing his escape. Two scientist men sat on either side of him.

"Where are we going?" he questioned.

"Akuma thinks you are ready," the one on his right said. "So we're going to Unova."

"Unova?" Kazan questioned. The region he had lived in was Kalos.

"Yes," the man said. "And we're almost there."

Ten minutes later, the helicopter was landing on an empty island. Wild Pokemon scattered at its approach.

The man threw Kazan off the helicopter who landed hard on the ground.

"Oni!" shouted the man who was on Kazan's left.

   "He's fine, Onara," Oni said.

Oni jumped out of the helicopter and walked over to Kazan who couldn't move. Kazan growled and Oni kicked him in the ribs for it.

"Besides," Oni began, "it's all going to help us in the end."

Oni picked Kazan up as if he was picking a dog up by the scruff of its neck. Onara came over and cut the ropes that bound Kazan's ankles together. Oni set him back down, tied a long rope tight around his neck, and guided him. Kazan could barely breathe and coughed to show his discomfort but neither cared.

The only building on this island was a lab similar to the one they had just left. When they entered, the first thing Kazan noticed was the sheer number of Pokemon. Even ones that he only heard stories about: fossil Pokemon. One that stuck out to him was a Kabutops. It slashed its scythes angrily at its cage of hard light, and got zapped for it.

Something else that Kazan noticed, was Kage. She was sleeping, but to Kazan it didn't seem natural.

"Yes," Onara said, seeing where Kazan was looking, "she's just about ready."

Even as he said this, Akuma came out, picked up Kage, nodded to Onara and Oni, and carried Kage out.

"Where's she taking Kage?" Kazan questioned.

"You'll find out soon," Oni said eerily.

   Kazan gulped.

They then stopped in front of a cage which Oni threw him in.

"It's your turn tomorrow," Onara told him.

Kazan spent the night awake, worrying about what was happening to Kage.

Author's note: I want to tell you about the meanings of the scientists names! I wanted to go with an evil theme with these guys.
Akuma means "demon" or "devil" in Japanese.
Oni is part of Japanese folklore and has traits similar to demons and ogres.
Onara means "fart" in Japanese.
