   "Wake up!"

   Oni's voice rang out.

They had been allowed to stay in that room for over a month now. Not much happened. No one checked up on them. They were always hungry. Their ribs had begun to show. Their spines stuck out. Just yesterday, Kuro and Kurai had turned two. They were progressing rapidly, and could walk on their own and knew a variety of words.

Kazan woke with a start as Oni's voice rang out again. What could he possibly want? Kazan got to his feet and flicked his tail, which, even after a month, felt strange. He wasn't even sure why he did it.

Kage was awake too. Fear clouded her yellow eyes. She held Kuro and Kurai's hands.

   "Meanies," Kurai said.

The door flung open and Oni stepped inside. He grabbed Kazan by the shirt and practically threw him across the room. Kage gasped.

   "Broder!" Kuro shouted.

   "Shut up!" Oni commanded them.

Kuro and Kurai began to cry and clung to Kage.

Oni walked over to where Kazan lay and bent down so that he whispered in his ear.

"Now you listen to me boy," Oni began, "you do as I say and no one gets hurt. Understand?"

   Kazan gave a nod.

"Good," Oni said with a smile. He dragged Kazan to his feet. "Get your siblings," he commanded.

Kazan walked over to Kage. Without speaking, for there was no need for words, the group of four walked back over to Oni who let the way into another room

As they walked, Kazan noticed that Oni carried a gun.

"Listen up you trash!" Oni shouted. "You are gijinka! And gijinka have three forms! The one you are in now, a human form, and a Pokemon form. Today, you will go into your Pokemon form."

"How?" Kage asked, her question barely being heard.

But Oni did hear. "You'll figure it out,' he told her. "Or else."

Kazan shut his eyes. What was he supposed to do?! He opened them again and watched his siblings, and felt the intense pain of a whip hitting his back for it. Kazan cried out and fell to his hands and knees. Another. Kazan screamed. The pain was horrendous.

   "Get up!" commanded Oni.

Kazan growled. But nonetheless, he got to his feet.

   "Mightyena," he heard Kage say.

And suddenly, Kage was glowing. He watches her form change until she was a Mightyena.

   "I did it!" she exclaimed.

"Well, looks as if it is true," Oni commented. "Kage, you may leave. Take Kuro and Kurai with you. When I come back, they better be just like you."

Kage nodded, and, not knowing how to change back, nudged Kuro and Kurai back towards the room with her snout.

Kazan was now alone with this demon.

"Trash," Oni muttered as he pulled out a blade.

Kazan saw the action and swiftly tripped Oni. He landed with a thud on the ground, the knife coming down, point first, near his head. Oni growled, got to his feet, grabbed the knife, and swiftly shoved it into Kazan's shoulder. Kazan cried out and dropped to his knees, holding the spot where the knife still protruded. Blood flowed from between his fingers.

   "Why?" Kazan questioned weakly.

Oni towered over Kazan. "This is punishment," Oni said casually. "Tomorrow, you shall try again. Remember this pain." And then he pulled the dagger out, causing Kazan even more pain.

Oni walked off, shutting and locking the door behind him, leaving Kazan without any medical attention.

Kazan got to his feet and looked around for anything to use. He found gauze and, using his teeth, he wrapped his shoulder up in it.

Kazan flicked his tail and snorted, a wisp of smoke rising from his nostrils. He felt his neck, and his fingers came in contact with a collar. He turned to find a mirror like the one in the other room. There he saw it. It was black and looked like the one the Houndoom had worn. And suddenly Kazan realized. These scientists were scared of them. That was the purpose for this collar, that gun, and the constant beating him up. They felt that if they could break him, then the others would be broken as well. Kazan growled. He was going to get out of here. Him and his siblings. And when they did, these scientists would burn.
