Furui and Absol

They arrived in a world unknown to them. Kage landed on her feet but Kazan, all the pain finally catching in with him, threw Kuro into the air and crashed to the ground. Kage leaped up to catch Kuro, set him down, and ran to her brother's side.

Kazan's red eyes were closed. He was talking in little air. He was shivering slightly, for it was cold and there was a slight dusting of snow. Kage gestured to Kuro and Kurai, and they came over and pressed their bodies against Kazan's. When he was awake, they would move. They would find shelter in this strange world. Until then, Kage closed her eyes and fell asleep.

   "Sol."

Kage opened her eyes. She was warm. She raised her head to find herself in a house. Kazan, Kuro, and Kurai were near. Before Kage was an Absol.

   "Ab, sol," it spoke.

Kage got to her feet and looked around her. They were in front of a fireplace. It looked like a living room.

   "Ab."

Kage turned back to the Absol who was gesturing for her to follow. She did and the two stepped into a kitchen. In it was an older lady, cooking something. She turned to see Absol and Kage. She patted the Absol lightly on the head and then came over to Kage. She reached out as if to pet Kage. Kage growled and backed away, ears flat.

"It's okay," the old woman said. "My name is Furui. This is my friend Absol." She pointed to the dark type. "He's been a great help. It hard to believe that one day he and all those others just appeared. Now then," she began, clapping her hands together, "how about something to eat?"

Kage's ears pricked up. Furui smiled and walked to the refrigerator and pulled out a bowl of Pokemon food. Kage took a step back indignantly. But she was in her Pokemon form and she didn't want to show this lady what she really was. So when Furui set the bowl down, she began eating. And that was when she realized just how hungry she was. She gulped it down fast until there was nothing left.

"Absol, mind giving me a hand with the rest?"

Absol's eyes began to glow as it took out the rest of the bowls of food using Psychic. He brought them to the living room. Kage came and watched as he set one down in front of each of the others.

Kuro and Kurai woke up at the smell, wagged their tails excitedly, and began eating as fast as Kage had.

   Kazan didn't move.

Furui walked over to him. Kage jumped over and growled, forcing Furui to take some steps back. Absol ran over and growled right back.

   "Sol, ab, Absol."

Kazan's eyelids flickered and his eyes opened. He saw Absol first. With a growl, he got shakily to his feet, then collapsed again. He looked to Kage. Then he swung his head over and started to tear at the bandage on his shoulder.

Two hands came over and took it off. Kazan saw with shock that the wound was no longer as red. The pus was gone.

"Why would anyone want to hurt these Pokemon?" Furui asked. Then, with a pause, she answered herself. "People are afraid of the unknown. I was too, until I was confronted by a wild Rhyperior on a rampage. That was when Absol came out of nowhere and saved me! I will always be grateful and I see Pokemon as more of a blessing than a hindrance. The world may never be the same, but that doesn't mean its bad!" She continued to redress Kazan's wound. "Dark types, their name implies evil but they aren't.

"I think one day we'll begin to embrace Pokemon and trust them, just like in that other world! Iridian, Ryuga, Kyoya, and Gingka are trying hard to make that happen. And not just them, but others too. Just wait. In a few years time, I'll bet even the WBBA uses Pokemon in tournament. Even the two directors have Pokemon. Tsubasa and Braviary and Kenta and Blaziken.

"Oh, I've talked too long. Come on Houndoom, you should eat."

Furui pushed the bowl of food towards Kazan. He began eating immediately, and started coughing because he hardly even allowed himself time to chew.

"Slow down!" Furui exclaimed. "If you're still hungry once your done, there is more. Will you help me Absol?"

Furui and Absol disappeared into the kitchen. Kuro and Kurai came over to Kazan and Kage.

"That must really hurt," Kage said softly, gesturing with her about to Kazan's shoulder.

"It'll get better," Kazan told her.

"She's coming back!" Kage said in hushed panic.

Furui came out, Absol at her side. She was holding something, lost in shadow. As she walked over, Kazan noticed the light gleam off a blade.

Kazan's eyes widened. He jump up and used Flamethrower. The attack burned Furui's hand. She cried out and fell back, dropping the item.

It looked somewhat like wire cutters, only bigger. Big enough, Kazan realized with a gulp, to fit around the collar.

Absol was furious. Its body sparkled with electricity. Kazan dodged out of the way as Absol used Thunderbolt. The attack hit the fireplace, and though the fire grew larger, nothing in the house burned. Absol was about to use another attack, when Furui placed a hand on it.

Kazan dipped his head for a moment, then raised it again. Kage gasped as she saw his body glow. When it stopped, Kazan was in his gijinka form.

   Furui's jaw dropped.

   "Sol," Absol said.

Kazan nodded to Kage and she and Kuro and Kurai also went into their gijinka forms.

   "You're all children," Furui gasped.

Kazan walked over to Furui and grasped the hand he had burned.

   "Thank you, and, I'm sorry."

With that, Kazan picked up Kuro and began to leave. Kage picked up Kurai and left too.

   "Wait!" Furui said, sitting up.

But they were already gone by the time she had gotten to her feet.
