Chapter 7 - The Bros Day Out

3rd Person POV:

Before Lily left for work the next day, she told Remus to have a lot of fun and smile because he looks better that way. 

Remus was sitting on the couch, reading while waiting for James to arrive for their Bros Day Out, as James so eloquently put it.

As the clock struck 10, he heard the car horn from outside and knew that James had arrived. He knew he was going to come at 10, but Remus didn't think he would be so punctual.

He headed outside and James was waving at him through the window of the car. Remus quickly took his wallet, phone, and keys, and locked the door. He sat in the passenger seat next to James.

"Hello."

"Hey, Moony", replied while driving.

When Remus gave him a confused look because how did he know about the nickname, James said, "Sirius told me. You are now an Honourary Marauder."

"Murderer?"

"Not a murderer, Marauder. M-A-R-A-U-D-E-R. It was our name in high school when we pulled pranks. We were legends."

Remus snorted and said, "Sure, James, sure."

James put on a high-pitched voice and said, "What, Remus, I am telling the truth!", which caused them to laugh.

"Where are we going?", Remus asked.

"Oh, this nice and cozy, Arcade/Book Shop/Cafe place. It's amazing, you will love it."

"If you say so."

James then turns on the radio but no good songs were on, so he plays songs for his playlist. The first song is "Space", by Sabrina Carpenter (A/N: I am in love with her songs, so bear with me).

"You listen to Sabrina Carpenter too?!?!", Remus asks in amazement.

"Yeah, her songs are amazing, don't you?"

"Of course I do! I am the biggest Carpenter there is."

"Oh, you are on."

James played song after song and they sang along to each and every one. They were from her 3 albums, "Eyes Wide Open", "EVOLution", and "Singular (Act 1 and 2)".

As they reached their destination 1 and a half hours later, Remus said, "I think it is safe to say that we both are tied for first place."

"Yep. And Remus, I welcome you to the wonderland of fun that is known as "Play, Read, Eat.", James said while opening to the door of the shop for Remus.

"Whoa...", Remus said after entering the building. It was humongous. To the right side was the arcade, on the left was the book shop and in the middle was the cafe. It was filled with people and everyone seemed to have a good time. 

"How did you find this place?", Remus asked because it wasn't in the city, more near the outskirts. But it is such a place that once you find it, you will never forget it.

"Oh. So, one day, after I graduated from college, I was trying so hard to find a job anywhere. I had no job interviews and Sirius was on one, that meant that I was alone, bored and annoyed. So I decided to just go somewhere. I took the bus to a station 1.5 miles from here and walked aimlessly until I found this place. 

"I had a few dollars to spend in my pocket, so I did, saving some for the trip back home. First, I played in the arcade, and it felt like I was growing younger. Next, I went to the book shop and bought a book by Louise Penny called "Still life", which a part of the Three Pines Mysteries. That book was amazing. Anyway, I then bought a Cappuccino and sat here for 3 hours reading and drinking, until the coffee and the book were over. Then I went back home.
