Will and Nico's child

Chapter 3 - Mrs.Harriss

When she left I went back to my packing.

 Afterwhile it was dinner time, everyone sat with their friends so naturally I was by myself. I ate my soup and thought about the day. 

Mrs.Harriss walked over to me and said "I called about the paperwork you should be able to go home by the end of this week." Wow I thought today's Monday so in 6 days I get to go home to my new dads. 

I gathered my food tray and walked over to the kitchen door. I opened the door and saw Larry the chef cleaning the dishes and humming. 

"Hey Larry." I said "Oh hey Holly, I heard you got adopted." "Yep." "Well good for you." 

He replied, he walked over and hugged me and took my dishes to the sink. I watched him clean and walked out the door to my bedroom.

 I looked around the room and thought about how weird it would be to leave this place. I thought about what I would miss about this place and realized there was nothing to miss, I had no friends and all the kids my age shunned me out. I walked over to my bed and waited for the other girls to come to bed. I waited and waited but they never came, they were probably in the other girl's room were Lucy slept talking about me, which was fine with me.

 I changed into pajamas and turned on my lamp and opened my book. After awhile my eyes started to droop.

I fell asleep and found myself back in the big throne room with the men. They looked at me and said "Hello Holly welcome to the family, you did really well today. We just heard our son's talking about their day with you and they really enjoyed it." Wow I thought, they really do like me.

 All of a sudden I woke up and it was morning. 5 more days till I get to go home. I got dressed and went to the went to Lucy's room, no one was up yet so I was by myself. I crept inside and saw makeup littering the floor. I picked some of it up and pocketed it. I know it was stealing but they wouldn't care and if they did I would be gone by sunday.

 I crept towards the kitchen careful not to make a sound. When I got to the kitchen I dug around in the pantry looking for the bagels. Once I found one I heated it in the toaster and went to my bedroom.

 What I saw scared the crap out of me. I saw my dad's sitting on my bed, even though the door to Sunshine's was locked. "What the-." 

"It's ok Holly, we didn't break in." Nico said calmly. "That's even scarier dad!" I whisper shouted so the other kids wouldn't hear me. "Dad." He said as though it was a foreign concept.

 "Honey-." Will begane. "No don't honey me, for all I know you guys broke in." I said furiously. "We shadow traveled." Nico finally said. "Shadow traveled?" I replied. 

"Shadow traveling is a child of hades thing, but right now we have to get you out of here." Nico said hurriedly. 

"What-." "No time to explain grab my ha-." He was interrupted by the sound of Mrs.Harriss who said "Now demigods, what are you doing here? Oh I see, your trying to save your daughter, well not on my watch." I watched in horror as Mrs.Harriss transformed before my eyes. She grew talons, her legs became mismatched, one donkey leg on metal leg, her hair turned to fire. My dad's protectively stepped in front of me.

 A black sword materialized in the air along with a bow and arrow. They grabbed the weapon's out of the air and lunged at Mrs.Harriss. "Stupid stupid stupid, I should have known that there was a monster here." said Will scolding himself. 

"No you couldn't have known Will." Nico said while stabbing the monster. "Awww your sweet Nico." replied Will as he shot a arrow at the evil Mrs.Harriss. Will and Nico kept fighting. Nico finally stabbed Mrs.Harriss turning her to dust. 

"Sorry honey." They said turning towards me, "We're sorry but we have to go home now, it's now safe for you here. Now get your stuff and meet us back here in 10 minutes." 

"Ok." I replied, my voice an octave higher than normal. I walked out the door and found Larry cooking "Hey Larry, Mrs.Harriss is gone and I don't think she's coming back, can you take care of the Adoption center please?" Larry looked pleased that I asked him to take charge. "Of course Holly." He said. I gave him a hug and said goodbye. 

 I walked back to my room and heard my dads saying "What are we going to do when she gets home we forgot to buy her a bed, clothes, and basically everything a kid needs." 

" We can figure it out when we get there." I heard Nico say. I felt really loved, they were actually worrying about me and what I needed. I knocked on the door and said "Anything's better than this place." 

They looked confused so I added "Oh I just overheard you worrying about all the stuff you had to get for me." "We can talk about this at home, but right now we need to leave." Will said "Let's get ready to shadow travel." Nico said as I grabbed my trunk. "Umm, how do we do that?" I asked quietly. "Just hold my hand and we can get home." He replied. I did as I was told and I closed my eyes, I opened them a second later and found myself in an apartment.
