Chapter 13- Cat?

Bump Bump Bump. There were small footsteps coming up the stairs. Charlie and Paige unsheathed daggers and I went to get my sword. Just as I reached it, Paige and Charlie yelled. I grabbed it and just as I was getting it out I heard, meow. I looked over and saw a skeleton kitten. "Aww what's it doing here?" I thought aloud. "What?" I heard Paige say.

 I looked over and saw her hiding in my sleeping bag and Charlie hiding in the corner behind my bags. "It a skeleton cat, I guess I got bored and summoned it." I explained. They both peeked out and said "Aww it is kinda cute." I picked the cat up and headed downstairs. "Aunt Hazel, Uncle Frank?" I called out. I turned the corner and saw all my parents friends with weapons drawn. "Guy's its okay, it was just a little-" I was interrupted but a muffled scream by Piper and Frank. "Calm down you two, Holly probably accidentally summoned it. Either that or it's a gift from Hades." Nico said, startlingly me. 

"Oh sorry Holly, me and Will just got here a second ago, right when the cat showed up." He added. "Oh it's fine, but can I keep him? Please? I'll take extra good care of him." I said. He turned towards the door and said "Hmm, let's wait till Will gets here, then we can decide." I waited a second and walked towards the door. I looked through the window and saw him in a fierce fight with a empousa. I saw his mouth move so I opened the door a crack to hear him in case he needed help. "- I'm gay , so buzz off!" 

I knew he didn't need help but I wanted to so badly. I ran upstairs and grabbed my sword unsheathing it on the way down. I burst out the door and ran towards the battle. I sliced upwards and cut the empousa. She glared a me and said "Oh yes, I believe I heard that old hag talking about you. What was her name again? Oh yes Mrs.Harriss, well nigh night child. It's time to die and this time you won't wake up." I sliced at her again and dust started to pour out of the cut. I parried her claws and stabbed. 

We did this several times before I finally got mad and stabbed her stomach when she wasn't paying attention. She glared at me one last time before dissolving to dust. I turned towards my dad who said "Holly, that was amazing." I hugged him and said "Thanks Dad, but why don't we go inside it's cold out here, and we can talk about the cat." He looked confused but decided not to ask about it. I opened the door and let him outside. "Holly Di Angelo Solace!" Nico yelled "I should punish you for getting into a fight, but I'm to freaking proud of you!" People huddled in for a group hug and to give me compliments when he was done yelling at me. "So Dad, about the cat?"

 I asked. Well I think you deserve it after the events that have happened today, and Will's allergic to living cats." Nico said. "I agree but I also think we need to figure out its gender. Hazel do you think you can use the mist to figure that out' Will said thoughtfully. Aunt Hazel took the cat from off the floor and waved her hand over it. It all of a sudden had fur and claws. "Let me take it to the office to see." Will said. He took the cat from her hands gently and headed towards the office with Nico following behind him. A few minutes of small talk later, he came back. "Well Holly, it's a boy. What are you going to name it?" My dad's asked. I looked at the cat and called it over. He eagerly walked over and sat down in front of me. "Hmm. Grey, Oscar, Mango, Shadow?" I asked it, all the names had no response except Shadow.

 "Welp, his name is Shadow I guess." I told my dad's. Shadow purred loudly and hopped into my lap. "Welp I believe this was supposed to be game night." Percy said taking out a Monopoly game. We spent hours playing games, watching movies and eating popcorn. By the time we went to bed it was 2:30 AM. Will grabbed some blankets and we all snuggled up. I was laying by Charlie and Paige with Shadow sleeping on top of me. 

Percy and Annabeth were sleeping on one of the couches. I looked around and saw Nico tucking Aunt Hazel in. Hazel and Frank were laying on the the other couch. Nico sat down leaning on the couch. He slid down, putting his head in Will's lab. I closed my eyes and instantly started to dream. I was in the black throne of Hades Palace. Hades was standing in front of me in a black tuxedo. "Thank you for going back to the mortal world. I know you didn't want to but life is far better than death, don't believe me then ask the souls of the damned. I would also like to say that my son and son in law have greatly enjoyed having you in their lives." I stared a the floor blushing and not sure what to say when a thought entered my mind. "Did you summon Shadow?" 

I asked. "Shadow? Ah yes the cat I sent to you, I hope you enjoy him. Now, wake up." He said gently. I woke up and looked around. The sun was up but the curtains were closed so it was dark inside. "Hey, Charlie, Paige wanna go upstairs?" I said nudging the siblings to wake them up. "Huh? Oh sure Holly." Paige said rubbing her eyes. "Charlie! Wake up!" I whisper screamed. "What!? He said jolting up. "Let's go upstairs sleepy head." I joked. 

I tiptoed past my dads, still snuggled up on the floor. Nico opened his eyes, looked at me, and then closed them again. Charlie and Paige followed me up the stairs to the loft. Shadow headed after us, meowing softly. We went to the loft and sat down. "So why did you wake us up?" Charlie said annoyed. "I woke up and thought, maybe they wanna watch movies or something while the others are asleep." I replied hoping I hadn't made him mad. Paige put her hand on my knee and said, "Sure Holly, I'm happy to hang out anytime." Shadow pounced on my hand and bite down on it playfully. "Sorry Shadow, I know your bored but I don't have anything for you to play with." I said softly. Shadow meowed and ran off into the hall in search of something to play with. "So what movie do you wanna watch?" I asked Paige and Charlie. "I don't care Holly choose whatever."

 Charlie said. We ended up watching a slash horror movie called stitches. Which was about a clown who accidentally died at a birthday party and came back from the dead to take revenge on the people responsible. We huddled together terrified of the clown, but not wanting to wimp out and find another movie. When it was over Paige said "Never ever ever again will I watch that movie." We all silently agreed. After that we watched "A dog's purpose." until Nico came up the stairs with chocolate chip pancakes. "What have you people been watching? I'm very confused first you were gasping and yelping in terror and now your laughing." Nico asked. "We watched stitches and now we're watching a dog's purpose to try and calm ourselves down." I said. I heard Will come up the stairs.

 "Hey Paige, Charlie your parents and all the other's are staying to help us unpack and paint." He said once he got to the loft. We carried our pancakes down the stairs and sat on the couch with the others. The moving van was heard backing into our driveway. I finished my pancakes and put them in the kitchen sink. "Hey, Nico. I'm gonna go get dressed I'll be back in a sec to help move stuff." I went upstairs and dug around in my trunk. I put on a camp shirt, shorts and my old blank converse. I was about to run down the stairs when I realized I forgot my sword. I found the belt and looped it through my shorts. I ran down the stairs and went to the front door.

(Oh thanks guys, I've kinda given up on this story, life's hard. I know that's a weird thing to say but family life's been tough. I'm pansexual and atheist and only my two cousins know.
