Will and Nico's child

Chapter 9 - Destiny

We walked out the door and towards the rest of the camp. They guided me towards a large metal storage shed. Paige turned towards me and said "So are you better with a bow and arrow or a sword?" "I honestly don't know, what do you think is best?" Charlie thought for a moment. "I think you're probably a sword person but since your grandpa's Apollo let's try a bow." That seemed like a good answer to me. 

"Ok then." He looked through the racks of bow and finally seemed to find a good one. "Here." He said handing me the bow. As I examined it he went around the shed looking at quivers and arrows. When he was done he handed me the items. There was a blue quiver and a handful of arrows. "Well before we take these home we should see if your any good a shooting first." Paige said. So we walked towards the archery range. 

When we got there Paige showed me how to notch a arrow and shoot it. I tried eight times and every single time I got failed. "Welp I would say keep trying but this obviously isn't working, let's get back to the shed and get you a sword." Said Charlie. As we walked Charlie and Paige talked about sword types and which one might be good for me. "I think we should try a dagger." Said Charlie. "No no a sword would be better for her." Paige replied. We got to the shed and started looking for me a sword. 

I saw a faint glow in the corner and started walking towards it. I saw that it was a sword. I picked it up and said "How about this one?" Paige said curiously "Hmmm where did you find that Holly I've never seen it before?" "In the corner over there." I said pointing. Charlie walked over and held his hand out for the sword. I handed him the sword and watched as he looked it over. "Hmm it's probably you size, but I wonder where its scabbard is." I looked back the corner and saw a long scabbard about the size of the sword. I walked over and grabbed it, carefully examining it. I saw that a name had been roughly carved into the leather. Destiny. 

"Welp." I said turning around "I found the scabbard." Paige walked towards me holding the sword. I reached for the sword and put it in its scabbard. "Welp I found my sword, we should go to the lake now." I said happily. "You should put that on your belt first." Paige said. "Umm I don't have a belt." She groaned "Let's get you one from the camp store then." We walked out the door and climbed a hill towards a small shack. "That's the store?" I asked. 

"Yep." Said Charlie turning towards me. He looked at me expression and said "Oh it's not that small, there's some magic on the inside that makes it bigger than it looks." Wow I thought that's cool, I wonder if we can add that to our tiny house. I opened the door to the shack and stepped inside. I saw shelves of sword polish, makeup and shirts, along with those triangles that create mini rainbows. I also saw a checkout counter and some racks of clothes. 

There were campers milling around and shopping everywhere. There was even a makeup section. I went over to the back of the store and ran directly into my dad's. "Oh Holly, what are you doing here?" Nico said. "Oh I got a sword and so I need a belt to hang the scabbard on." There was a pause and then Will said "Oh your going to need some drachmas then." "Whats a drachma?" I asked. "It's basically greek money." Will said pulling out a leather bag. 

"Here have this." He said putting it in my hand. "Hmm where would it be?" Nico said. "What's dad looking for?" I asked. "Nothing." Will said quickly. "Ummm ok, thanks for the money dad." I said. I walked towards the belt rack with Paige and Charlie and tow.

 I turned towards them and said "You know you guys don't have to follow me around all the time. I'm fine on my own, not that I don't enjoy your company because you guys are the best." I said. "We know your fine on your own it's just that your new and well people are kinda creeped out by children of Hades even if your just his grandkid." Paige said quickly. 

Wow I thought I never realized that people might be creeped out by me, I mean sure the kids at the adoption center but they weren't demigods they didn't understand. I wanted to cry. I continued shopping for my belt and when I was done I slammed the money on the counter and ran out and into the woods, tears streaming down my face. 

"WAIT WHERE ARE YOU GOING!" Charlie screamed at the top of his lungs. I don't know I thought. I ran and ran and ran until I found myself in the woods. I cried some more and collapsed in the shadows of a dying oak tree and instantly passed out from exhaustion. I dreamed I was at the gates of a large black palace and that Hades was in front of me. He glared down at me and said "No no no this must be why Nico's in tears right now, you have to go back to the mortal world." "What do you mean mortal world, I'm dreaming." I said even though I didn't think it was true. "Your dead Holly, but I'm putting you back in the mortal world right now." He said calmly.
