June 03

Minghao woke up to the complete silence around him. He rubbed his eyes, rubbing away the drowsiness as he sat up.

He looked around, seeing the sunlight penetrating the glass windows and now providing bright illumination. The room is deserted, and he was the only one left inside.

Junhui wasn't beside him anymore, and Chess isn't in his crib.

Minghao crawled off the bed, and stood up. He went downstairs, then in the living room, he saw Junhui lying on his back on the sofa with baby Chess on his chest.

Chess was smiling so wide as Junhui makes faces at him. His small hands were on Junhui's cheeks, slapping them everytime he grins.

Minghao went to them and kissed Chess' crown. "Kay aga, Junhui, a?"

Junhui smiled at him. "Kiss Daddy, baby," he said in a small voice then pouted his lips at Minghao.

Minghao laughed before he leaned down on him to peck his lips. "Good morning."

"Good morning," Junhui greeted back.

"Anong oras ka nagising?" Minghao asked and sat on the floor.

"Five."

"Five? Ba't ang aga mong nagising? Hindi ka ba napagod kahapon?" He asked then he put a hand on Junhui's head, combing his hair with his fingers.

"Napagod, pero umiyak kasi si Chess, e. Patutulugin ko sana pero ayaw nang matulog kaya nilambing ko na lang muna bago ulit ako aalis mamaya," he explained.

Minghao nodded. "Ayaw mo bang matulog muna sandali? Ako na bahala kay Chess."

"Okay lang, mahal," Junhui said and smiled reassuringly at him.

"Baka aantukin ka mamaya sa ospital, Daddy," Minghao stated and Junhui could see the worry dancing in his eyes.

Junhui beamed at him. "Sobrang husband material natin ngayon, a?"

Minghao laughed. "I'm always a husband material to you, Wen."

Junhui nodded. "Right."

"How was your day yesterday? Sorry, nakatulog ako habang naghihintay sa 'yo," Minghao said and scrunched his nose.

"Don't be sorry, love. You can't always stay up, waiting for me. Para saan pa't hindi kita pinapatrabaho kung hindi ka rin naman pala magpapahinga?"

Minghao smiled at him. "Still. . . I want you to end your day with us."

Junhui chuckled. "It always ends with you, Hao. And you two looked so cute last night."

Minghao raised his brow. "Why?"

Junhui beamed. "You were sitting on the bed, hugging Chess close to your chest, and you two both were asleep. Mabuti na lang at mahigpit ang hawak mo sa anak natin."

Minghao blinked, remembering that he didn't put Chess to his crib last night. "'Di ko pala siya napatulog sa crib niya."

Junhui nodded and sighed. "Please rest too, okay?"

"Your son is making me restless."

Junhui chuckled. "Mm. Pero kapag tulog siya, matulog ka na lang din para naman makapagpahinga ka rin. I know you can't bear to take your eyes off him, but you need sleep."

Minghao nodded. "I really get so anxious. Lalo na kapag wala ka, walang ibang magbabantay sa kanya."

"I understand," Junhui said and smiled at him. "So during the day, while I'm not around, you're in-charge, but every night, if Chess cries, I'll take care of it."
