Big drama in this chapter! TW for fighting.

"So you're sure nothing is off between you two?" Ponyboy asked Talia as she pair sat on the stairs outside the school.

It was lunch, and although most of the students chose to eat inside due to the cooler temperatures, Ponyboy and Talia had chosen to sit outside. Johnny had stayed home from school, which was a normal event. The thing that the two kids were most concerned about was that Two-Bit was eating lunch by himself near the football field.

They had tried to approach him, but he wouldn't talk to either of the young greasers, and pushed Ponyboy away when he tried to approach him a second time.

"Well... There might have been something." Talia sighed, taking a sip of water.

Ponyboy looked at her curiously, begging her to go on.

"At the bonfire, when Dally had gone out to smoke with you guys, Two-Bit came up to me and... Said some things. And I might have said some things back to him."

Ponyboy frowned. "Things like?"

"Well, essentially he told me that I'm not Dallas' type, and that we're either gonna break up or I'm going to 'change myself to be his type'."

"And to that you said...?"

"That he was just jealous I wasn't with him."

Ponyboy chuckled. "Oh. I thought it was something more serious. He'll get over it by the end of the week, I bet."

Talia smiled, relieved. "I hope so. I miss messing around with him during class. Makes the day go by a lot faster."

The two continued eating, and watched a somber and heartbroken Two-Bit pick at his lunch at the picnic table where they usually sit.

"See ya later, Tals." Ponyboy said as the two parted ways for class.

Inside Talia's classroom, Two-Bit had placed his books on her side of the table, where she usually sat.

She sighed, and walked up to him, pushing his books onto his side of the table and taking a seat in the empty chair next to him.

"You have got to stop being so immature about this!" She scolded, slamming her books onto the table and staring at him. He turned his head to the side so as to not make eye contact with her.

"Two-Bit, enough. This is not how you handle this. Just talk to me."

He shook his head, still refusing to look at her.

"You're an ass, Two-Bit Matthews." Talia said, exasperated.

"Not as much as Dallas is." He said under his breath.

"Ah, he speaks." Talia said, rolling her eyes.

The rest of the day went by, minute by minute. Without Two-Bit's entertainment, it seemed like the day dragged on and on. Talia couldn't wait to get into Dallas' car and drive far away from the school... Far away from Two-Bit.

Finally, the bell rung, signifying the end of the school day. Talia practically sprinted out of her last class and to her locker to collect her things.

She began to exit the building, turning around to see if she could catch up with Ponyboy.

In the process of turning around, Talia accidentally made eye contact with the two Soc boys who had essentially kidnapped her a while back. Her heart sunk in her chest as she turned quickly and scurried out of the school.

But it wasn't quick enough.

"Can't keep your eyes off us, huh, Grease?" One of the yelled, tossing his coke bottle at her. Thankfully, she dodged it, but was unable to dodge the shove from the other Soc, Randy, and she tumbled down the stairs that lead up to the school, getting scraped and bumping her head along the way.
