Who would've thought I joined the school's swim team?
(BTW this all takes place in Canada so excuse me if you have no idea where or what I'm talking about)

*A 3-Day School Trip To Muskoka Woods*
The trip was on Monday. So basically the day right after the weekend.
I stayed back at school late on Friday. Honestly, it was tiring and I probably should've taken the bus...but it's too late now so I guess I got to wait for my dad to pick me up.
***
My head shot up when I saw teachers walking into the lobby with papers in their hands. I'd heard that we were going to see what buses we would be in on Monday and I wanted to know if I would be with anyone I knew.
300 people. 9 somewhat friends. 30 people per bus. There was a small chance I would be able to be with anyone I knew.
We were only a few weeks into the school year, and because of my amazing social skills, I hadn't gained any friends, and stayed with the nine people from my elementary. Well, a few of the nine.
Darren, Jason(another friend of mine) and I walked up to the papers that were posted in the main lobby.
Bus 3...hmm.
I didn't know anyone, lucky me! Just wait a second while I go cry in that corner over there, thanks.
I sighed, as I watched Darren and Jason see their buses and would you look at that, they had friends with them and I had no one. Great.

*Monday*
I was probably one of the last people on the bus, considering I got lost (my school is pretty small, so that was an achievement), and I didn't know where to put my luggage, I was really behind.
The bus was already full of people I didn't know, and I chose a seat in the front, right beside this girl. She smiled at me, and I smiled back. I was getting sick of all these fake smiles I had to give to every single person I saw.
"Hi," she said, and I greeted her back.
Well, considering I had no friends here, I should probably make some now. (A/N: I don't talk to any of these people anymore so my efforts seem useless)
The teacher in the bus took attendance, and I found the people I had talked to throughout the bus ride (I'm skipping these details for now, IM SO SORRY but this isn't the point of the my upcoming story yet).
Looking down at my phone, I saw a bunch of notifications. I was part of a group chat on Instagram, and many people were talking to each other, and a name that popped up the most was this person named Abel?
How do you say that name? A-belle? I couldn't tell if this was a girl name or a guy name.
While I was reading the chat, I faintly hear the teacher calling out a name 'Abel' pronounced 'a-bull'. I turned around and saw a boy in blue raise his hand.
Ohh, so it was a guy.
I turned back around, not paying much attention to him. I didn't recognize him, but his name was interesting.

*skip to about a month later*
It was morning and I was almost falling asleep in first period trying to listen to the announcements.
[PEOPLE INTERESTED IN JOINING THE SWIM TEAM PLEASE GO TO ROOM 103 AFTER SCHOOL]

*skip to the end of school*
I walked into the room with my friend Nolan.
"Are you sure this is the right room?" I asked. Yes, I have a bad habit of doubting myself.
"Yes, for the billionth time." He sounded almost frustrated at me, making me laugh.
I saw two people I recognized, Titan and Oscar. Picking up the form for the swim team, I saw another one in Titan's hands.
I looked at him with a confused expression on my face. "Wait, you can swim?"
I've never seen him swim before, and I couldn't imagine him in competitions.
"Yeah," I heard Oscar pipe in. "The most he can do is probably the dog-paddle."
Titan smacked him while I laughed, watching.

*first day of swim practice*
I haven't swam in so long, oh gosh this is going to be so embarrassing.
I looked over to the left at the boys' side, seeing them also line up for practice dives just like the girls on my side.
My gaze stuck on one person in particular.
He looked...familiar? But he wasn't from my elementary.
***
*skip to the end of the practice*
Walking out of the change room, I walked over to Nolan, who was talking to the guy I saw earlier.
I needed a ride from Nolan home so I tapped his shoulder. My gaze never left the other guy, and I knew I looked more confused than I have ever been in my life.
....I've seen him before? But where?
A thought popped up into my head.
"I know him." I told Nolan. The guy was staring at me, while I was stupidly talking about him where he could hear me.
"Yeah, of course you do, he goes to our school."
No kidding, I thought. Everyone at this pool goes to our school.
I didn't mention that though.
"No," I said, "I know him from somewhere else."
Nolan shrugged, and the staring from the other guy made me uncomfortable, so I turned my full attention to him.
"Are you part of another swim team outside of this school?"
"Yeah." Okay, I definitely remembered him.
"*insert name of swim team*?" I asked.
"Yeah." He didn't seem that surprised but he definitely didn't know me.
"Oh my gosh I used to go there!" My voice sounded half excited for some reason. I'm not good at expressing myself, leave me alone...;(
"That's cool." He smiled. I couldn't tell if he really cared or not.
***
Turns out he did somewhat care, because we soon became friends, over text at least.
~~~~~~~~~~
Wow I made a friend? Even I'm surprised...
Anyways he was a part of my old swim team and I literally only saw him once before so I have no idea why I remember him from about a year before.
We're 'besties' now so that's great I guess lmao.
I hope no one gets offended by this because I love all of youuuu <3.
