"Let's go find our science teacher." Jason said, poking me in the arm.
I looked at him, surprised. He literally just popped out of nowhere. "Already?"
"Yeah, lets follow the crowd." He points over to a group of people from our science class moving in a blob, searching for our science teacher so that they could hand in their posters. Jason and I had to do the same.
"Ok, just wait a second, I need to get my bag."
He waited for me while I opened my bag to take out my posters and gave him my jacket to hold while my hands were busy. School was just over and I had to hand in my homework before it got counted as late.
Why?
Cause I'm a lazy hoe who can't finish her work on time.
Once I finished, I took my jacket back from Jason, and we followed the crowd of people searching the halls for the science teacher.
After handing our work in, Jason and I walked back down the halls.
"Do you want to go down the main stairwell or the side stairwell?" Jason asked, as if that really mattered.
"The main stairwell is fine." We've only ever really used the main stairwell during after school hours.
"Did Darren really ditch us?" I asked, exasperated after seeing no one at his locker.
"Yeah, I think so." (A/N sorry lol I don't have very meaningful or interesting conversations)
As we walked to the main stairwell, we saw Darren and Nick coming toward us.
The second Nick saw me, his face lit up and he shouted- mind you- across the hall full of people, "Audrey! Hit the woah!" And started laughing.
I just rolled my eyes at him and shook my head, smiling.
As Jason and I caught up to them, we started walking as a group of four back to the stairwell.
I noticed my shoes were untied, so I bent down to tie them. Duh. I let the boys walk ahead, as I'm used to.
But the second I stop, I notice from my peripheral vision Nick stop walking to wait for me. I looked up and saw him standing there beside me, while Jason and Darren continued to walk ahead down the stairs.
I smile to myself, feeling happy. Nick was literally the only guy who's ever cared enough to wait for me. I know it's such a small thing, but those small things are what I appreciate the most, because it shows that they care enough for me to really notice my presence gone.
I didn't say "thanks for waiting" though. I thought that would've been too embarrassing, considering I don't talk much.
I probably should've said it though. You don't see people like that everyday.

Well...I hope you guys understood the point of this small chapter, because I kind of started the scene way earlier than I probably should have. I didn't know where or how to start the story soooo... *shrugs* oops
I hope I didn't come off as boasting about having friends that care about me, I just wanted to share my small bit of happiness, and I didn't know how else to do it.
Sorry this chapter wasn't about the hiking trip, but I promise to finish that soon😂. Not sure when soon is though but anyway thanks for reading, and please vote and comment what you think about this chapter!
Love you guys,
Audrey💗
