(n.) the deep emotional bond between people,
especially those separated by distance or death.

HER LIFE WAS TURNED

UPSIDE DOWN AND SPIT

OUT IN JUST ONE FATAL MOMENT

and ever since the media
has followed and documented
every aspect of the life
that now belongs to the woman
known as The Widow.
They've crucified her for
moving on and in her heart,
she knows she never truly will,
but for her sanity- she has to.
She's good at hiding her anguish
and had thought she couldn't move on,
not until she met him and a sudden flurry
of feelings were awakened again,
and she welcomed them with open arms.
No more lonely nights, no more dinners
for one and most importantly the dark black
hold that's seized her since
that day has finally loosened.
Then, just as her new life becomes normal
for her and everyone involved,
something happens. It's the slightest
change in atmosphere, the hairs on the
back of her neck stand and the feeling
of a threat looming in the distance
takes hold of her, and she tries to keep
her life in one piece and ignore all the signs
telling her to pay attention.
Bruce has someone new visiting her now,
checking up on her she suspects.
Ingrid isn't someone she
expected but is glad they're able
to become friends in such a short time.
Their stories are more intertwined than
she could have ever expected.
Annie's life is just now becoming the life
she wants again, and as soon as she thinks
she's healed and whole she's
blindsided by who suddenly appears.
Back from the dead like no time has passed,
like the despair and devastation
hadn't already rooted deep inside her.

He stands before her more alive than

she could have hoped for and her life will never be the same.

Again.
