Hiccup barely heard Viggo calling to his father. One more step and he would fall off the edge. The mad man behind him laughed evilly.

"Your days are over Hiccup Haddock. It doesn't matter if they surrender or not. You will never fly again."

Then the high pitched whistle of the Night Fury reached everyone's ears. A dark blur shot up in front of the boy and his captor.

"What in the-" but hiccup didn't hear the rest.

He fell.

A loud scream left his throat as the ground neared.

Was this really how his life ended? Shoved off a cliff and then dying on impact?

The ground was almost upon him as he shut his eyes but a sudden jolt caused him to re-open them.

He was flying.

No.

He was hanging from the claws of a Night Fury.

Windy! He thought joyfully as the said dragon looked down at him.

He grinned.

She grinned back, surprising him with her gumless smile.

"Thankyou" he said. And he really did mean it.

His saviours arched up then placed him on the ground near Stoick before landing. They got ready to leave but Hiccup's dad stopped them.

"Hina" his father came up to the girl. "You told the truth, and you saved my son. Thankyou"

A mischievous smirk played on her lips.

"Really, it was all because someone once told me, that not all Grimborns are evil."

Hiccup laughed at his father's expression as Hina took off.

"She's a Grimborn?" Gobber exclaimed. "I can't get a wife, never mind that man."

Hiccup cracked up even more. How he missed his family.

Then his father looked at him.

"Hiccup." was the only word he said before the two embraced in a hug.

"You are grounded!" Stoick almost yelled as he let the crushed boy from his arms. Hiccup opened his mouth to argue but something pushed him to the ground.

"Ahh, what the- TOOTHLESS"

The overjoyed Night Fury began to lick the downed viking.

"Aggg stop that, you know it doesn't wash out."

Toothless let his friend up, then pushed his head into Hiccup's hands keening longingly.

"I missed you too."

"Hiccup!" he turned around, his stomach flip flopping in excitement.

"Astrid!"

The girl ran at Hiccup and they shared a moment together.

Then she punched him.

"How dare you scare me like that! And I didn't hit you that hard!" she scolded him.

The boy cringed. His injured arm was the girls favorite spot to hit.

"Sorry and I'm okay.''

Astrid looked concerned and worried.

"No you're not, that arm is broken."

Hiccup gulped.

"Maybe?" he began but his words were cut off by the call of a Night Fury.
