"Aggg!" Arctic yelled as he chucked his axe into a tree.
How? How did Hina become better than him? He pulled his weapons from the tree. Fists curling around its handle as anger coursed through his body. If dare she take his glory of winning and actually conquering a dragon, why he's going to, he's going to-!
A loud whistle came from the shore line.
Arctic's heart sped up.
Night fury!
Lifting his axe he quietly walked to the forest line by the cliffs and from behind a tree he looked around.
Nothing.
He glanced up.
Fear paralyzed Arctic to the spot. The night fury was flying right in front of his eyes! In the day! His breath came out quickly as he checked that he was well hidden. Taking out his spyglass the young viking observed the dragon.
Wait... There was a human on its back! From what he could tell, they were female if the long brown hair was any indication but he couldn't make out any more details because the Night Fury tipped downward. For a moment Arctic was scared the dragon had set its eyes on him. But instead it flew towards the sea stacks.
"That's it!"
Arctic swore he got a heart-attack when the words were shouted from above him. Glancing up, he saw a boy sitting in the tree with hair that seemed to have never seen a hair brush and dressed in leather armor. He had a somewhat familiar look about him. Was he with the girl on the dragon?
Speaking of, Arctic ducked lower to be out of the stranger's sight as he looked back at the Night Fury and its rider. They were streaking up towards the sky and were small specks that were barely visible when something went wrong. It seemed like...the girl fell off!
"Oh no..." whispered the boy above him as the Night Fury began to fall as well, spinning while doing so. The girl frantically grabbed at the dragon but only ended up grabbing its tail which forced her to spin as well.
Somehow, don't ask Arctic how, the rider managed to seat herself back into the saddle and right her dragon. They screeched towards the ground, directly above Arctic and the stranger. The blonde contemplated whether he should run but in the last second, the two pulled up, almost knocking the boy from the tree and they streaked towards the foggy sea stacks at an unmeasurable speed. Just before they crashed, the duo took charge of the situation and dove into the fog head first. In a matter of seconds, they rounded out on the other side.
"Haha! Yes!" the 'tree boy' cried happily as he waved towards the dragon and the girl. The rider waved back and they began to head towards them. Arctic ducked under some bushes and watched as the Night Fury landed on the tree practically breaking it.
"You did it!" the boy cried as he hopped on the dragon. So he was a rider too?
"I know."
Arctic stopped breathing.
That....voice.
He knew that voice.
As the dragon and its riders flew off towards the center of the island, Arctic got up and blindly dusted himself off.
It wasn't possible, it just plainly wasn't.
Or...was it?
The pieces began to click together forming a clear picture from the puzzle of questions and secrets.
With a new determination and anger fulling him, Arctic ran after the Night Fury one thought in his head.
The Night Fury's rider....was Hina.

The riders flew in silence.
No one spoke.
And Astrid was nervous.
She and the gang had prepared for the trip physically, but not emotionally. Stoick had not taken kindly to the news. He quickly got ready and they were on their way to find Hiccup. Skullcrusher was the best tracker in the group so they were using him to find their missing friend. About another hour passed in silence and Astrid was beginning to give up hope. How were they ever going to find him? There were thousands of places where he could be. It would take forever to search the whole ocean.
The sound of a throat being cleared caused the group to look at Fishlegs.
"I think you guys should see this." he called, waving towards the island they were flying over.
Astrid scanned the ground.
A shipwreck.
"Snotlout, Fishlegs. Come with me. The rest of you-" she glanced at Stoick and he nodded. "The rest of you keep a lookout."
She and the two other riders descended into the wreckage. Axe ready the female warrior, dismounted her dragon and began to explore the area. After a few minutes she arrived back from where she had started with nothing. Snotlout was already there waiting for her.
"At least we know, that Hiccup isn't here, and that we are on the right track."
He was right. The ship was a dragon hunter's ship but it could be an entirely different one fleet from the one that took Hiccup.
"Agggg!" Astrid slammed her axe down onto a broken slab of wood tears prickling at the corners of her eyes. Were they going to find Hiccup at all? Was he even alive?
Before dark thoughts overcame her mind, a cry echoed from the woods.
"Astrid!"
It was Fishlegs.
The teens ran towards him where he was kneeling beside a large black lump.
"TOOTHLESS!"
Quickening her pace Astrid reached the downed dragon before Snotlout even counted to three.
"He has a twisted wing but other than that, he's alright."
Fishlegs news cheered the viking up even more. They were on the right track!
"We need someone to take him back to Berk." she declared. "Fishlegs and Gobber, could you-"
"Don't worry lassy" the thickly built viking replied. "Fishlegs and I will take very good care of this dragon"
Astrid sighed. With a new found will she got onto Stormfly and took off.
