The three of you sat outside in the rain. The water droplets mixed with your tears, and you didn’t know which one was which anymore. You heard footsteps. Colonel Mustang and Lieutenant Hawkeye were there. “Look. You are a state alchemist, Fullmetal. You are going to come up against cases like this again. And you may have to get your own hands dirty. You can’t shut down every time something like this happens.” said the Colonel.
Ed looked up and laughed weakly. “It’s funny….We are called dogs of the military, devils. We have so much power. And yet..we’re only human.” He stood up and screamed. “WE’RE ONLY HUMAN!!!!” Colonel Mustang and the lieutenant continued down the stairs, leaving you to sit in your sorrow.

Your dreams were anything but peaceful that night.
Your little sister was standing there, smiling.
“Little sister!” You ran towards her, laughing.
Just before you reached her, she turned into that writhing figure you had created.
“Why..couldn’t.. you save..me?” it asked.
You screamed in fright and ran the opposite way. Nina and Alexander were standing there. You were about to hug them, then they merged into that awful chimera. “Why.. couldn’t you save...me?”
You woke up with a small scream. You realized that it had just been a dream.
Al ran in. “Are you okay?”
You nodded. “Just a nightmare.” you said. “Hm...brother was having nightmares too. Was it… about Nina?” he asked.
You nodded. “Let’s go.”

Outside, you spotted Lieutenant Hawkeye. “Hey! Lieutenant! What are you doing here?” you called. She turned around. “Oh, it’s just you, Y/N.” Edward and Al caught up to you. “Hey lieutenant, I have a question.” “What is it?” she asked. Ed looked at his feet. “What’s going to happen to Tucker and Nina?” She sighed, closing her eyes. “Tucker would’ve been arrested for his crimes. But we’ll never know. They’re dead.”
“D-dead? What happened?!” you exclaimed.
“They were murdered.” “By whom?” asked Ed. “I don’t know. I was just going to the scene. “We’ll come with you!” said Al. “No.” “Why not?” asked Ed. “You don’t need to see this.” she said. With that, she left.

(Meanwhile at central command)
“He’s already taken down Old man Gram.” said Hughes.
“The Brigadier General?! But he a master!” exclaimed the colonel.
“That just goes to show you how dangerous he is. You should increase your escort, law low for a while. Nobody will blame you. After all, you and Tucker are the only state alchemist in this area, right?”
Colonel Mustang realized something.
“Oh no.”

The three of you sat in the rain, on the pedestal of a statue.
“We put all our trust in alchemy, but in reality, what is it? It’s just a flow. All is one, one is all. I thought I understood it, but in reality, I understood nothing. I thought maybe this rain would wash away the gloom, but right now, each drop that hits me is just more depressing.” whispered Ed.
“At least you get that, brother. I can’t even feel it. I just want my body back.”
You close your eyes. “I’m sorry. I-I couldn’t protect her..And now…” You bury your face in your gloved hands. “Nobody ever stays. Everybody always leaves me.” you whisper into your hands, so that nobody hears it but you.
“Hey. You boy. Are you the fullmetal alchemist?”
You look up to see a dark skinned man. Ed slowly looks up, despair clear in his eyes. The man extends his hand. It’s almost in slow motion. “Brother!” Al cries. He lifts Ed away from the man, just in time. You jump away from the blast. “Who the heck are you? What do you want?!” cries Ed. “Alchemists who have strayed from the path of God...must die!” says the man. He jump toward the three of you. You quickly transmute a wall. “Come on!” you yell. The three of you run away. But you are getting tired. There is a large gash in your shoulder. Ed face is blood stained and he is panting. You try to escape, But the man has backed you into a dead end. His hand glow with electricity, which he smashes into Al. “ALPHONSE!” screams Ed. Al flies into an alley, half of his body gone. “Al!” Ed cries again. Scar, taking advantage of his distraction, smashes into his arm. Ed flies backwards, but too much harm isn’t done. He removes his coat, allowing you to see his automail. “A prosthetic arm..I see.” says the man. “Well, I’ll just have to get rid of it then, won’t I?” He is about to attack. Reflexively, you extend your arm to try and stop him. It all happens in slow motion. Scar, surprised, aims downward, catching your leg instead. Your automail explodes into pieces, and you are sent flying backwards. “Y/N!” cries Ed. Scar grabs for his arm, and this time you can’t do anything. “Ed!” you scream. Ed’s automail arm breaks, and he falls to the ground. “I’ll give you a moment to pray to God.” says the man. “Say...Are you after them too?” asks Ed. “No. Only you. However, if they interfere, i’ll take them too.” “What are you planning, Ed?!” you scream. “I’ll let you take me...If you promise you won’t hurt them..” he says. “Ed! Stop! Run away!” yells Alphonse. The man nods. “You have my word.” “No!” you scream. You try to drag yourself towards Ed. “Ed!” you cry. “No…”
The man’s hand is inches away from Ed’s face. You reach out, trying to stop him. Then, a gunshot sounds through the air. Colonel Mustang is standing there, with Major Armstrong and Lieutenant Hawkeye. You smile, wiping your tears. “So, Flamebrain’s come to save the day, huh?” you say shakily. The colonel walks towards him. “So, Scar, we finally meet.” Scar is about to attack the colonel, but the lieutenant trips him and begins shooting. “What the heck are you doing, lieutenant?!” exclaims the colonel. “Please. You know as well as I do that you’re useless on rainy days.” she replies. Then Major Armstrong attacks. “Huh. So God is directly delivering State alchemists to me!” Scar says. However, Major Armstrong is a formidable opponent, and Scar is soon surrounded. “Hmm. perhaps there are too many.” he says. With that, he conjures up a huge cloud of smoke. When it dissipates, he has gone into the sewers. People run over to help you. “Alphonse!” Ed exclaims, realizing. Ed runs over to you and him. Ed shakes Alphonse. “Al! Are you ok?! Speak to me Al! Al!” Suddenly Al punches him. “Ah! Al! What the-” “You idiot!” Al screams. “Why didn’t you run away!?” you add angrily. “No way! I’m not going to leave you here! You could have been killed!” “And maybe we wouldn’t!” yells Al. You smack him with your left hand. “Are you really that dense Ed!?” Angry tears begin to slide down your cheeks. “You are an idiot.” says Al. “Hey, easy on the idiot stuff! I’m still your older brother!” exclaims Ed. “I’ll say it all I want to!” yells Al. You begin to beat on his chest with your fists. “What kind of person does that, Ed?! What kind of person just gives up on living?! Well?! Answer me…” You continue this, until you fist is bouncing harmlessly of of him. “What kind of idiot…” you mutter. You hug him close to you, as if your life depends on it. He is surprised by the gesture, but pats your head. “Yeah. You’re both right. I really am an idiot.” You let go of him and smile. “You got that right.” “But at least you’re alive.” says Alphonse. “Yeah,” he agrees.
“At least i’m alive.”

Ed: Eh? Why she have to lose her leg, too?
Me: Because I said so! (whacks Ed with Winry's wrench)
