She awoke with the sun glistening in through the shades. She opened her eyes and took a deep breath. “Ah, what a lovely dream,” she said. She sat up and stretched her arms out, and yawned. She checked for her phone to see what time it was.

“10 o’ clock. Hm,” she thought. “I should go downtown today.”

She got out of bed and went to her bathroom. She stripped down of her pajamas and walked into the shower. She turned on the shower, feeling the hot water hit her skin. She closed her eyes, feeling the warm sensations on her body. She started singing ‘Isn’t She Lovely’, and imagined she was singing it with Harry. She always wanted to sing a duet with a boy but with her confident issues she didn’t even have the courage to sing a solo in choir. She stopped singing when she heard someone walk in.

“Hello,” she asked.

“Cristina can you not sing so damn early in the morning,” her cousin said rudely.

“I’m sorry, I was just singing. I didn’t think you’d actually hear me…” she said, as she turned off that water and grabbed a towel.

“Can you leave, Karly? I need to get dressed. I’m going out today,” she asked nicely. Karly rolled her eyes and walked out. She dried herself up, and brushed her teeth. She put on her contacts and moisturized her smooth, tan face. She walked out of the bathroom into her room and changed into her clothes. She grabbed her favorite khaki shorts from Old Navy and her white flowly t-shirt that she had bought from Forever 21. She slipped her sandals on and then grabbed her make-up bag from her dresser. She walked back into the bathroom and placed the blemish coverup, foundation, Covergirl Bouncy blush, eye lash curler, and mascara on the small flat space that was on the sink. She covered up the blemishes on her skin and applied the foundation. Her mother always believed she had a beautiful complexion but she didn’t see it herself, so she always used cover-up and foundation to make her skin flawless. She always saw the little marks on her face that she thought needed to be hidden. She then applied the blush on her cheeks. She smiled, feeling a little more confident in the way she looked. She made a kissy face at the mirror and laughed a little. Her favorite make-up product had to be blush. She never went a day without blush on. With blush, she felt sexy and sophisticated.

She put the eyelash curler to her eyelashes, leaving the curler on her eyelashes for 5 second on each eye and then applied the mascara. Now she felt beautiful. She winked at herself at the mirror and then walked downstairs to see her cousin watching TV.

“Hey, I’m going downtown to Chicago. Need anything while I’m out?” she asked.

“Can you just get the fuck out?” Karly asked.

“No need to be so hostile. I was just asking.” she said. “See ya later,” she said as she walked out.

“Yeah see ya-“

She slammed the door shut before her cousin couldn’t even finish. She never understood why she could be so mean and have a ton of friends.

She got in the car and drove on her way to Chicago. She had her camera, the Canon Rebel T3, and her wallet, that contained her driver’s license and debit card, in case she got hungry while she was out. She connected her iPhone to the stereo and blasted out to her favorite oldies: The Beatles, Joan Jett, Madonna, Neil Diamond, Billy Joel, Stevie Wonder, and Rick Springfield. She bobbed her head to the beat of the music as she drove her way to downtown Chicago. She saw the city skyline as she drove on the highway. Architecture was her favorite subject to take pictures of and if she wasn’t driving on the highway right now, it would be a perfect picture to take.

She reached to Michigan Ave. and found a parking garage a few blocks down. She walked back down to Michigan Ave. She had her camera around her neck. She held her camera in her hands, ready in case for a photo op.

She walked down, past her favorite stores: Forever 21, The Water Tower Mall, Apple Store, Aldo, and her favorite Hershey’s Store. She put her camera to her face and looked through the lenses. She took a picture of the Hershey’s Chocolate sign. She smiled when she had taken the picture. She saw a familiar person staring at her and he was smiling too. She knew she had never met him though, so how could she have known who he was. She turned around and started walking the opposite direction he was in. She turned back to see the guy was still staring at her. She took a closer look at him and it looked just like Harry.

“No, it can’t be.” she thought.
