By the time they had reached her car they had talked about when she had moved to Chicago and why she had to move up to The Windy City. Her past was very difficult to talk about so she just gave him the minor details about why she had moved up. For such a bubbly, optimistic girl you would never think she lived that kind of life. She hid the part of her that she wouldn’t let anyone see. Not even her friends. She kept her feelings shut in, deep inside so no one can ever read her.
“So how long are you going to be here, Harry,” she asked him. She got in the car, put her seat belt on, and turned on the engine. As soon as Harry got in and buckled up she backed out of the parking spot and drove out to the exit of the garage. She paid the fee and drove on her way home.
“I’m here for just a few days, we’re actually supposed to be going back to England to record our music. We just thought it was a good idea to come out here. Simon thinks we’ll go far so we thought to take advantage of this. Give a free show for some lucky fans and give them some gear.” he said.
She smiled. “Wow, that’s amazing. Have you written music yet?” she asked.
“We’re actually coming out with an album soon. We have some copies to give at the free show. Maybe you can come. Get you back stage to meet the lads.” he said.
She nodded. “That would be great! I’d love to.” she said.
She drove the rest of the way home, talking about music and how experienced they were in music. They finally arrived at her house and parked up in the driveway. She turned the car off and got out. She walked up to the front door and walked in. “Hey guys, I’m home and I have a guest,” she said as she pointed her fingers to Harry as he walked in.
“Who’s that faggot,” Karly asked, as she was watching iCarly.
“If it may be of interest of you, this is Harry. Harry Styles from One Direction. The band I told you about last night.” she responded. “Just ignore her, she’s very rude.” she added before walking away and leading Harry to her room. “Just sit there,” she said pointing to the bed, “let me boot up my laptop,” she added. She sat down on her chair, at the desk, and turned on her laptop. As she waited for the laptop to turn on, she turned her chair to look at Harry. She couldn’t believe he was sitting in her room. Although it looked like a boys room, since it was, she couldn’t believe it. She lived in her Uncle’s house since her mother had lost her job and has been unemployed for the past year now. Her mother slept in the basement while she slept in her cousin’s, Jake, room. The walls were yellow. The shelves were full of airplane models and Cubs gear. On one side of the wall was taped pages of magazine clippings from Seventeen, Teen Vogue, Vogue, and Nylon. She taped those pictures up there for inspiration so every time she didn’t feel beautiful she would look at those pictures. It worked every time.
“Your cousin seems kinda nice,” Harry said. His hunched over, sitting down, with his arms on his thighs and his hands laced together.
“She’s never nice to me or my friends. I’ve gotten used to it though.” she said.
She turned to see the laptop had loaded up and she clicked on her pictures file and went to her photography folder.
“Uhm, I have hundreds of pictures on here. I don’t know which ones you’d want to see.” she said, scrolling through the thousands of pictures she had on her laptop. She scrolled past a folder that said ‘Photoshoot.’ She scrolled quickly past it but was too slow.
“What’s that?” he asked, pointing at the folder. “Can I see that one?” he asked.
“Uhm, sure but I didn’t take these photos. A friend of mine did.” she said, as she clicked on the folder. Her face turned red. She had totally forgotten that she had done a photoshoot for fun.
“That’s fine. I want to see it.” he said. Cristina got off the seat and let Harry sit on the chair. She clicked the first picture in the folder and a new window popped up with a picture of Cristina. She was wearing a floral, earth toned maxi dress with a piece of fabric hanging lose over the cloth covering her top and a white daisy placed in her hair. She had on a natural make-up look since she was never crazy about so much make-up being put on. All she had on was mascara, her Bouncy blush, and a dark burgundy red lips. “It was for a project,” she said making an excuse so it didn’t seem she was cocky.
Harry kept looking through the pictures, keeping quiet. He stayed on one picture of her where she was looking down at the ground, smiling, and the sun shining at her face. He stared at it a while before finally speaking.
