Jade Anderson's POV

I hate boats. I hate them with a burning passion. My stomach is churning with sea sickness, and the gross salty air is making my hair stick to my face. Alana is standing on the bow of the boat, eyes closed with a smile, as if she's actually enjoying this hell. Trying not to throw up the granola bar I ate earlier, I lay curled up in a ball by Alana's feet.

"Are you feeling any better Jade?" I look up to her with a sour expression on my face.

"Does it look like i'm feeling any better?"

"Sorry. I just don't understand how you can be so sick. Being out here is so relaxing; it clears my mind. I just, I don't know, I feel safe here.", Alana says smiling as I feel a breeze of salty air making me gag. I pull a piece of hard candy from my pocket, unwrap it, and put it in my mouth to help with my nausea. Looking towards the back end of the boat, I see Andy sneaking glances at Alana every few seconds.

"Lover boy over there can't keep his eyes off of you."

Alana turns to looks at me, "Speaking of lover boys, what's up with you and Alex?"

I scrunch my eyebrows together and say, "Nothing, why?"

Alana smirks at me, "You can't seriously be in denial. You so obviously like him. I've never seen you look at anyone the way you look at him. And lets not pretend that you didn't die inside when Alex gave you his jacket last night. You just don't want to believe that someone could care about you the way Alex does."

"I honestly like him a lot, but i'm scared to make any kind of move. What if you're wrong and he doesn't like me? I'd look like even more of an idiot than usual."

"I honestly think that he is just as scared as you.", Alana says. Then trying to lighten the mood she smiles and says, "Then again he's probably scared of you. You're pretty mean." I gasp audibly.

"I am not! I just state my opinions very clearly." A smirk spreads across Alana's face as she shakes her head.

"Just try to show him that you're into him. Maybe if you threw him a couple of hints he'd make the first move. Guys are pretty dumb Jade they need a little help sometimes." We both let out a laugh. Feeling less nauseous, I decide to sit up.

"We should probably IM Percy and Nico. Make sure they know we're still alive." I say holding my stomach.

"Yeah Percy's probably pulled out half of his hair by now." Alana says before causing the water to form a rainbow. I throw a dracma into the rainbow saying, "Oh Iris, goddess of the Rainbow, please accept my offering. Show me Percy Jackson and Nico DiAngelo."

An image flashes before us, and I instantly put a hand over my mouth to stifle a laugh. Nico and Percy are sitting on the floor of Percy's cabin with mouths full of marshmallows. NIco pushes another marshmallow into his impossibly full mouth. "Chummyy... bunnyy.. Ha I tolll you i coulld bee youu!" A scowl crosses Percy's face as he grabs two marshmallows from a bag. As he shoves them into his face, I decide to save them from more embarrassment. I clear my throat loudly, and watch as both of their heads snap toward our image. Alana bursts out laughing, unable to control herself any longer, and I soon follow suite. Marshmallows fall from their mouths, and a blush spreads across their cheeks. "Um hi." Alana manages to choke out between laughs.

"You're alive!" Percy says elated as one last marshmallow comes toppling out.

"And on.. A boat?" A look confusion washes over Nico's features.

"Ugh, don't remind me.", I say as another wave of nausea passes over me.

"Oh stop being a baby Jade.", Alana says laughing.
