Demi-Who's?

Chapter 7

Alana Hale's POV

"What is it that you needed to talk about? I needed to talk to you anyway Jade.", I say leading Jade towards the dining pavilion for dinner. We talked on the way there about our conversations with Andy and Alex, and what we were going to do about the quest. We decided that we would leave the day after tomorrow. After dinner, we headed to the camp bonfire to tell the others what we had decided, and who was actually going.

The campfire was a beautiful sight to see after a long day. Campers were sitting around the fire talking, singing, laughing, and just having a good time. I spotted Percy, Annabeth, and Nico out of the corner of my eye, and headed in their direction pulling Jade along with me. We talked and joked for a while, and at some point Andy and Alex had come to join us. As the night progressed, Jade looked at me, silently telling me it was time to make the announcement to the rest of the camp. I slide my hand out of Andy's and stood up with Jade and we made our way towards the fire.

"Hey guys! We have an announcement to make!", I say as an attempt to gather everyone's attention, and no one even turns to acknowledge that I had spoken. I looked over at Jade, who smirked at me and then turned towards the sea of people.

At the top of her lungs, Jade yelled, "Listen up demi-whos! We have an important announcement to make, and if I see you not paying attention I will shove my foot-"

"Okay, okay", I say elbowing Jade in the ribs, "We wanted to let you all know some of the details of our quest. We will be leaving the day after tomorrow. Andrew and Alex, Sons of Apollo, will be joining Jade and I on the quest." As soon as the words had left my mouth, people had begun to turn towards each other. They were all whispering things like, 'they'll never be able to complete this quest', 'they're just little girls'. That's when Percy and Nico stood up, and walked over to stand next to us.

"Now wait a minute," Percy says looking towards the crowd, "you all just need to calm down and wait a minute."

Someone from the Ares cabin yells out, "How are two little girls going to finish this quest? They will be dead the second they step out of camp!"

Percy and Nico turn and look at the Ares camper with pure hatred. At the same time they say in deadly low voice, "I will end you".

Not wanting a fight to start, I grab Percy's arm and drag him away, noticing that Jade does the same with Nico. We pull the boys to the training arena where we finally let go of them. Jade and I sit on a bench, and wait for Percy and Nico to cool down.

"Jeez you guys are more worked up about this then we are." Jade said with a smirk. This eased the tension, and Percy and Nico tried to hide the small smiles that graced their faces. They came and sat down on the floor in front of us.

"Quests are dangerous. You always have to be on alert for monsters or anything that seems out of place. Be cautious when accepting help from the gods, even your own parents. Only trust yourselves on the quest, and always, ALWAYS, have eachothers backs", Percy says with a worried voice.

"Make sure someone always keeps watch at night. Don't think that because you are in a public place that a monster won't attack you. No matter how panicked you might be in a situation, always remember your training. Rely on your instincts to help you, they're usually right. Stick together at all costs and don't get separated.", Nico says with a grim face.

"If you get seperated or need help with anything, anything at all, Iris Message Nico or myself so we can help you."

"And most importantly", Nico says looking up at Jade and I, "Don't get yourselves killed."
