I woke up to the sound of soft snoring, it sounded almost like purring, the way he hummed and breathed. Everything felt warm and comfortable. I didn't even want to open my eyes, but I found myself looking down at the boy in my arms. I didnt realize how peaceful Kokichi can look, sleeping soundly like that. I never thought I'd see something so adorable, smiling against me. It was then that I took notice of the fact that he was in my arms, and at some point in the night I had ended up tangled up together with him.
Then the memories of my dream came back to me, and I found myself deep in thought as I relived them. Shuichi... Nah, it must just be a dream then. My sidekick would never do that, right? Maybe I should talk to him.
But that was for later, because right now I couldn't take my eyes off Kokichi, who was still happily snoring in my arms. He looked so peaceful, I didn't want to wake him...
"UPUPUPUPU!"
Goddamnit. The morning announcement. I frowned as Kokichi's eyes snapped open at Monokuma's annoying laugh. He seemed pretty startled, and fit his face against my shirt. Neither of us really listened, I was comforting him.
He trembled in my arms for a bit before finally waking up. "Nnnh... Huh?" His small, sleepy sounds made my heart flutter, for whatever reason. "Mmmh..." He hummed. "Good morning..." With that, he nuzzled back into my chest. I could feel his smile against my skin.
"Morning." I responded, gently running my hand through his hair. Goddamn he's cute.
He hummed at the action, mumbling "Hey.. Don't stop that, okay? I like it...."
He seemed so open and honest, for the first time ever. I can't imagine any other place he would say that.
Well, there is one other place, but I'd rather not think about it.
He continued to him, and I continued to mess with his hair, which is surprisingly soft, and we both were happy for a while.
After a bit, though, there was a knock at the door. I tried to get up, only to find that Kokichi was clung to me, and I was scared I would drop him if I got up.
"Come in." I tried to be loud enough that whoever was on the other side of the door could hear me, but not loud enough that I would scare Kokichi. Whichever it was, it worked, the door opening to make way for Shuichi.
"Hey um, everybody is wondering where you are, so I came to get you." He said awkwardly, finally turning to me. The moment his eyes laid on Kokichi in my arms, I saw what almost seemed like rage, in his eyes. It was gone a moment later, however, so I figured I imagined it.
"Hey man! Gimmie a minute, okay? Kinda... Held up here." I grinned sheepishly, feeling Kokichi nuzzle into the crook of my neck.
He nodded, stepping out of the room. I could have sworn I heard a noise, but I thought it was my imagination.
But when I got out of the room, there was a dent in the wall.
