I woke up in the middle of the night, when my dream stopped abruptly. I'm glad that dream-me and dream-Ouma are happy. They look so sweet.

Unable to get back to sleep, I decided to walk around outside, maybe stargaze? I hummed at the thought, pulling my jacket on after my clothes. I slipped my shoes on and stepped outside of my room.

The first thing that caught my eye was that Shuichi's door was slightly open. Worrying for my friend, I peeked inside. No one was in there. I shrugged, figuring he might have had the same idea as me.

Going outside, I spied a figure laying in the grass. I took a seat, but to my shock, I was sitting next to Ouma. Or should I refer to him as Kokichi in my head? Are we that close yet?

"Good 3am." He said, clearly suppressing a smile.

"Uh... You too, I guess. What are you doing out here?"

"Watching the sky. My dad used to tell me that when people died, they became stars, and when you see a shooting star, that's someone coming back to earth to be reborn. I always used to come outside when I couldn't sleep and look at the stars, and I always wished good luck to any falling stars." He explained, smiling fondly at the memory.

"Wow, that's... Really sweet." I gently pat his shoulder, leaning back. We sat in silence for a while, just enjoying each other's company.

Before I realized it, Kokichi's head was on my chest, and I could barely keep my eyes open.

"I should probably go to sleep." I said, starting to get up.

"C-Can..." His voice became quiet and timid. "Can I s-sleep in your room? I locked myself out of my room, and I can't look for a lockpick until morning, when it's brighter."

Under any other circumstances, I would have immediately declined, but I found myself thinking about it, and eventually saying yes. Something about the way his eyes pleaded for company made me feel for him, and let him.

We returned to my room, and I changed back into my bedclothes, which were really just a tank top and my boxers, then started to climb into bed. I stopped when I noticed him snatching a blanket and laying it out on the floor.

"You don't have to sleep down there," I interrupted, "there's enough room for the both of us."

I watched his face contort into a cute flustered expression. I stopped my thoughts at the word cute, before making a decision. He's annoying as hell, but sometimes he's adorable. Like right now, the tint on his cheeks and those wide lavender eyes glowed in the dark, his small frame even smaller without normal clothes on. He looked so fragile, but I found nothing in me wanted to hurt him. I found myself wanting to hold him, protect him, keep him safe, and a small part of me wanted to love him. I pushed that last one to the back of my head, patting the bed next to me.

I watched him take the blanket off the floor and wrap it around his shoulders, the fabric still reaching the floor. He slowly walked towards the bed, and squeaked cutely when I pulled him towards the bed. He slipped on the blanked ant fell on top of me, and before I knew it, our lips were touching.

His eyes were open for just a moment before they fluttered shut, drawing attention to his pretty long lashes as he pushed into the kiss, climbing into the bed but not breaking the contact.

I was in too much shock to break apart, but a huge part of me liked it. A lot.

It was crazy. Absolutely fucking insane. But I found myself kissing back. I wrapped my arms around his waist, but then I heard a loud noise.

The sound of crunching wood. My eyes shot open and I pulled away. The door was open, the frame damaged, and whoever was there is gone. I got up, shutting and locking it, going back to Kokichi.

"Bedtime?"

He nodded, waiting as I laid down with him, stretching out. I felt a warmth at my side, and smiled to myself at Kokichi cuddled up to me, fast asleep.
