The air was as icy as her soul. It whipped and whooshed pulling her small frail body all over the crunch crisp snow. 'Where are we going..?' She pondered to herself as she latched her small sharp puppy teeth onto her mother's large fluffy tail. She heard a growl of disapproval rumble from her mother, but she didn't let go. They continued through the harsh winds as the snow that was pelting down on them began to dry to their fur. She was quaking in her pelt as she could see her father ahead. His large build barking orders to the pack. 'Why did we have to leave the meadow? I liked the meadow.' She was pondering to herself again as she didn't have much else to do. Her soft brown eyes were practically glowing in this darkness.
A few more miles of trotting through the harsh climate snarls and clashing of teeth were heard as her father stopped the pack mid stride. His ears tall and alert looking for the source of the snarling. As he looked to his left he was tackled from his right Sending the entire pack into defensive mode awaiting for the rest of the ambush. They didn't wait long as dogs poured in attacking the pack. They were street dogs you could tell because of the stench of trash. She herself snarled and rumbled standing under her mother as she watched with fear as her pack got torn to shreds. It was as if time was moving in slow motion.
She could see the beta taking on at least 4 dogs struggling and growing weaker by the moment. Her father taking on the other alpha grabbing and shaking her father by the scruff as he was thrown to the ground taking his last breath. Her eyes widened fearfully as she watched her role model die in front of her. The alphas eyes snapped up to her as he raised his lip and began snarling at her taking a step forward. She felt a surge of wind woosh in as her mother stood over top of her protectively as she snarled back at the alpha. This just caused caused the alpha to laugh in a evil like way. He barked order to his pack who were all still alive and intact. They ushered her and her mother into a cage like structure a few staying and guarding the outside of their kennel.
"Mom what's going to happen? What about dad." She sobbed into her mothers pelt who tried to coo soothing things to her. "It will be fine, but promise me you will revenge the street rats. They are nothing but mutts." The pup looked up at her mother her eyes glowing with emotion "I promise Mommy. I'll avenge Daddy if it's the last thing I do!" She yipped as she was pushed backward and her mother was taken from the cage. To this day she didn't know what happened to her mother but could only assume from her screams all night then the smell of blood the next morning.
Her stomach clenched in agony. She lost so much and gained nothing but to become a person slave for the alpha doing whatever he desired. Each day she grew into a beautiful multi patterned shepherd. Once she was strong enough she ran not before earning a nice scar over her left eye. As well as slight blindness in the eye.
Her claws clenched and dug into the metal kennel as she recalled the painful memory that she thought about daily. Her small pup, Gunner, came running in a panic and she tilted her head with worry. Worry began to crease her forehead. "Gunner what's wrong?" She stood the best she could in the small cage. The shackles around her paws burning as they rubbed the raw area once more. This pup was her weakness and she couldn't help it. She would have never been able to have pups of her own without help from the humans and she couldn't have been more thankful. "The bad people try to tell me You is a bad dog. They want me to join them but I wouldn't leave without you mommy." He grinned his little tail thumping against the ground. Keesha snarled at the thought of the mongrels stealing the last thing she cares about from her.
"Gunner stay away from those bad dogs. They are nothing but bad news do you understand?" She said firmly hoping he would listen. She couldn't afford to lose him. He was the one thing keeping her sane at this point. Once she was out of this kennel she was determined to make the street rats pay for everything they took from her. Gunner nodded his head furiously not wanting to upset his mother anymore than he had done. "Come here son." She said with a calmer tone. He smiled he loved to cuddle up with his mother when he could. He squeezed his little plump body through the bars and sat in front of his mother as she cuddled her son with a passion.
Once she lulled him to sleep she began to plan out her escape and revenge on the dogs who took everything from her. It was time she took something back.
